I need some inspiration

Getting back from the holidays was sobering. I gained a few pounds, I could have done worse but really, in the big picture it's easily reversible. But that's why I'm writing. I'm having a rough time getting back into being healthy and I'd like to see if anyone can share their thoughts of how they're doing it. TIA.

I need some inspiration

I totally understand, What a slump! Don't fret, just stand up dust yourself off and DO something, ANYTHING maybe put on some funky 80's music and clean your house. Be positive, your not alone.

I'm right there with you. I keep keeping on in the hopes that I will pick that motivation back up. I continue plodding along and while I'm not doing as well as I was before the holidays, I figure if I keep doing something, I'll eventually get out of this rut.

Check out my logs

I've lost 30 lbs in the past 2 months (yes, over the holidays). You can see what I've been eating and how I've been exercising at the link below.

Basically, I eat heart healthy and since I started in such bad shape I only walked 10 mins a day, 5 days a week throughout December. I've increased my walking to 15 mins in January and actually did a couple 1 mile walks this past weekend (the weather was awesome).

You CAN lose weight, get fit and be healthy! The first step is DECIDING you actually want to. After that, do your due dilligence on a basic healthy eating and exercise plan for you and go for it. Remember, we're all here at PEERtrainer to help you succeed!

Wishing you the best of success!

Isn't there a pill for this?

Hey,

I really want to, but I am so wiped out when I get home. I just want to sleep.
Also some other injuries are causing problems. I'd like to take a dance class but feel to awkward, nothing like latin dancing or swing dancing to work off the pounds. I need a push in the right direction though.

I used to feel wiped out after work. I finally went to the doctor for a check up and found out I was hypothyroid and severely so. It had no other symptoms except fatigue. I thought I was just getting old (was approaching the big 5 - 0 ). What a fountain of youth that little blue pill is. Still am battling all the weight I gained, but I'm not tired and finally feel like exercising. It's quite a common problem, so maybe worth checking into.

Take that dance class!

To the person who said they feel too awkward to take a dance class, I'd like to encourage you to do it! Go for it! You'll be surprised at how quickly you improve, even if you're not an expert overnight. This is a perfect example of one of those things that once you get out of your comfort zone, you have the opportunity to feel so great about overcoming this challenge!

Oldies but goodies

To the lady who comment about funky 80s music. I put the oldies on when I clean the house or when I'm making supper. I sing along (I'm alone so no one can hear how bad I sing) I hate housework so I try and make it a little fun. Dance along to the music when you are dusting it makes you forget actually what you are doing. Like eating something! This helps for me. It's just a idea. Have a great day everyone.

Yep - nothing like some music to get you 'up' - in more ways than one! My present to myself was this little mp3 player - I've been having a ball ripping all my cds and making compilations of my favorite music. I do a little every night and it's such a motivational activity! I am so energized to go for a walk or ride my recumbant bike with my new toy and listen to my favorite tunes!

The right music just makes everything so much less effort - my exercise time just flies by! I'll find myself doing an extra 5 minutes or taking the long way cause there's a good song on and I don't want to stop just yet....
