my notes
Arrgghh!! This financial task (tax-related, boring stuff) had to take first priority this morning, because I promised. I was too exhausted yesterday to tackle it, so I got up at 4am. I never know what "done" looks like on a task like this. I think I still need to find some papers, but I got most of it done, I think.

But this stupid task crowded out my usual morning activity of reading PT logs, and writing in mine, and most of all contemplating the positive life changes I am trying to make. I guess financial stuff is part of the big picture, so I shouldn't treat it like such an intrusion. One improvement I need to make is to get some procedures in place for dealing with this stuff and organizing it better so that it's not such an ordeal when I have to do it. I hate thinking about money!

I don't want to fall behind on my reading project (Discardia, plus the book that hasn't arrived yet, the one that applies Beck-like techniques to decluttering -- if it doesn't arrive before I leave for Colorado, I will buy the Kindle version even though some pages aren't viewable, according to the reviews.) I need to do some catching up, and then re-dedicate mornings to this activity.

UPDATE: I had a few hours, and I got caught up on my Discardia reading and note-taking. Then I decluttered, sort of. I needed to move my precious race T-shirts, which will eventually get made into quilts, into plastic storage boxes. They had been in cardboard boxes stored on shelves right next to my bed, and I hated how that looked. Plus, I don't think it's sanitary to keep cardboard boxes full of fabricky things in your living space. I photographed each t-shirt, so I know what I have in the boxes. This took longer than I thought it would, but I'm so glad it's done.

I have another idea of something I could make a quick improvement on, so hopefully I'll get to that after I go teach a couple of piano lessons.
