Ugh, I relapsed into my old eat-in-the-car habit. It was a 9-hour drive, and I stopped at a gas station, and sure enough, succumbed to overeating. If only I had taken the time to go to a grocery store before I left, and bought some vegetables! If I'm going to overeat, at least let it be carrots! Well, at least these instances are few and far between anymore. And I will run 9 miles, so it won't even register on the scale. But I will find a grocery store before I leave Nashville. Surely they have them here.

After the 10k and 5k, and a shower, on my way home, I am stopping in Paducah, Kentucky to see the National Quilt Museum. I love quilting, and this place is a holy shrine for quilters. I have only been there once. I brought some quilting to do, but I don't know what I was thinking -- I will not have time on this trip to do more than a few stitches, if that! I only do hand-piecing and hand-quilting, which means that I rarely ever finish a quilt. But that's okay -- it's mostly the process that I love.

Today's Discardia is about "No Home Position," and the solution is "A Room of One's Own."

No time for a thorough summary, but your home should support you in doing what you love. One thing she suggest is to think about the places you've lived, and about what was great about these places. Also, what was not so great? Write these things down -- what features you want your home to have, and what you want to avoid. Then compare it to your current place. Think of what you could do right now to bring it closer to your ideal. Do the easy things now.

I am looking forward to the furniture my son is building for me. I need to shop for a love seat or mini-sofa, because that's part of my big picture. But to make room for that, I have a whole wall of shelves I need to get rid of, so that is going to be one of the projects for the next two weeks...

Planned: The 10k is first, and then the 5k. This event is on the large size, a couple thousand participants. I should finish around 9 am, so it won't have time to get very hot. After this, I will only have a half marathon left to do in Tennessee, and that is scheduled for the end of the month. Then I can add Tennessee to my State Bingo collection.

Actual: Got em done. But I was SO TIRED during the 5k! I'm sure I didn't break any speed records. So nice to have these done. I'll be back at the end of the month for my Bingo!

breakfast
pre-run -- a bagel, about 260 calories.
post-run -- a granola bar, a packet of almond butter, and a banana. Then I grabbed a boiled egg at the hotel breakfast, which was still going on after the run, but I was not tempted to grab more than that. There will be other chances to eat. I'm not on the moon.
