Well didn't run last night. I got out of work later than I wanted and then wanted to cut up my peppers and stuff. Made salads for hubby and me, stuck a frozen lasagne in the oven for hubby and I had chicken breast & spag squash.
Stayed up later than I wanted too... watching a show that was called Slang. It was SO interesting!

Today is my birthday but it's really just another day. Everyone thinks I need to go out to eat to celebrate but that's not gonna happen. First I hate paying such high prices for food that isn't really spectacular and second it would be so hard to find something to eat right now that would be compliant without having to make a ton of special requests. I'd rather just get home and tell hubby to have some of the leftover chicken he made on sunday and I'll go for a run :-)

Day 17 of whole30 and it keeps getting better/easier!

Friday I was able to get out early and went to the grocery store and then got home and went for a run.

Went to a wedding on Saturday and I was going to be visiting dad out of town yesterday so I had to stay focused and get lots done Saturday morning. Got my hard boiled eggs made for the week, made a spaghetti squash for the week, made some tuna salad, cooked a batch of chicken breasts and did a bunch of laundry.

I made sure to eat a lunch before the wedding and then we ran home to feed the dog and stop at the family picnic for a quick hello to everyone before heading off to the dinner/reception. I had a hard boiled egg quick at home and brought a bag of snap peas and carrots in case my dinner was not compliant. I couldn't even remember what I picked for my entree but figured everything would be off limits.
We got there and I had just a club soda with lime slices and some olives (tip from MJ the Well Fed author) I ate the salad without any dressing (not terrible but really could have used some olive oil at least!) and found out I had ordered salmon. Ok good... but then it came out with a big drizzle of some kind of sauce which I scraped off. It didn't seem to be doused in any butter so I ate it and it was pretty good. But the sides were spinach which was SO doused in butter I couldn't eat that and then a risotto which was completely unallowed and really didn't even look that good. So I ate the salmon and was fine. A very interesting thing when the cake was being served was that it really didn't even appeal to me and I am usually a 2 or 3 piece kinda girl.
It was freezing in the room and I was not really in a party mood (plus not knowing many people) so we left early. I had something to eat when we got home.
Sunday I had my usual hearty breakfast, did more laundry and packed a lunch. Stopped to see stepdad first and then headed off to see dad. SO glad I packed some food because the day turned out weird. Spent the afternoon with dad which was nice, then ate my lunch and drove the 2 hours back home. But on the way I had to stop at Costco and pick up more eggs and other essentials. Then had to go to the pet store for dog food because we were completely out. Finally got home, had some dinner (all of my Saturday morning cooking paid off again!)
Then folded all of that laundry and then had to cut up my onions and mushrooms for breakfasts all week. Whew.

And a rather significant win for me last night too... I was having some cravings and rooting around for something to snack on. Luckily the macadamias were all gone and I didn't pick more up (forgot actually!) at Costo. So I was looking at my choices and thought I could really go for some nice creamy peanut butter but of course that's not allowed but I could have some almond butter but that is too grainy maybe sunbutter would be better and I actually was reaching for the cupboard door and stopped myself. OMG. I am craving peanut butter and I'm about ready to give into my craving with something that is as close as I can get. Duh!!! Don't eat it! That will just let that craving keep coming back. Just starve it!
So I walked away and realized how awesome it was I realized what I was doing and stopped myself.

Tonight I hope to run again and then have more veggie prep to do that I ran out of time for yesterday.
Tomorrow is my birthday and I'm hoping nobody stops over because the house is so seriously a disaster zone!

Yesterday was a really good day. Work kinda sucked but I did not cave on my whole30. As a matter of fact I think it was the first day that I was able to go without any snacking after dinner.
I was originally thinking I would go for a run when I got home but this while week I have done nothing that I wanted to do. I have a wedding on Saturday and am going 2hrs away to visit dad on Sunday so I wanted to get some food prep stuff done that I never got to last weekend!
Anyway... I made my roasted Brussels sprouts, I made confetti cauliflower rice, I cut some veggies, made popcorn for the people at work (which I do every week still even though I don't eat it anymore). Also packed up and froze some of the meat I had cooked on Sunday. And that was all after I had made the separate meals for hubby and myself.

My breakfast today was awesome and I am really loving this. Not weighing myself is getting easier every day and my gratings for chewing gum are so much less too. I'm not sure if I'll extend whole30 into 45 or 60 days instead, but I am definitely considering it. The only thing right now that I'm looking forward to is a glass of wine which is kinda weird since I really wasn't drinking much before anyway.

So hoping to get out of work early today and do my grocery shopping and then get in a run :-)

Darn nuts. I can see I'm using them as my replacement for all other things. I sat and ate a ton of them last night right after dinner even though I wasn't hungry.
My main goal in doing this whole30 is to rid myself for good of the compulsive eating. So I need to stick to the suggestion of "don't snack if you can help it". Snacking on "allowed" foods will not help me in anyway and will stop today.

Finally got out to run yesterday afternoon and oh boy it was rough! Not sure if its from my lack of running consistently, or if its because my body is still adjusting to burning fat as fuel instead of sugar.
Also this was my first ever run outside without being able to chew gum. Not sure if that had anything to do with it feeling hard.

I'm not having any trouble sticking with the whole30 foods, but I do think I'm probably eating more than I need to. I'm sure it's going to take the next 3 weeks to get that tweaked so I'm eating enough to last me till the next meal, but not more.

So today is what turning out to be the usual Sunday... Chopping cooking and prepping for the weeks meals. I have a list of things I need to make so I best get started!

LOL last night I dreamed that I ate some pizza, and even dreamed that I was telling someone that I dreamed about it in my dream. Weird!
And I remember feeling guilty too thinking oh no I've blown my whole30 and will have to start over!

Doing pretty good but still craving the gum like mad. I have adjusted so far to not having a snack at all bwtween breakfast and lunch (and heck I used to have TWO snacks in that period!!) so that's good progress.
