Team Name: Team Dallas
Members: 123
Location: Dallas, TX 75201

Goals: To make everyone feel welcome, motivated and challenged.

Profile: This is a local weight loss group (accountability, support, motivation) that is getting started, and we meet online each day. We log, help each other work through things, share whatever we want to talk about. Ideally you'll want to get together to workout locally, if you just want to do this online only, that's fine as well.

I'm a mom to a wonderfull little boy and a girlfriend to a wonderfull man. I live in Big D and I love it here. I would love to be able to get through a work out without feeling like I am going to pass out. I have studied nutrition a lot over the past couple of years and feel like I have learned just about all there is when it comes to dieting. Now... on to tackle the exercise part. Man.. I am a lazy one!!!

I am 37. I wanna say I had a weight problem my whole life...but that isn't entirely true. I had a complex for most of my life because of the lack of support in my life and I guess I kinda grew into what I feared the most. I'd say I've been very overweight since my 20's. I'm married with a soon-to-be 16 year old girl.

Cathy - 48 Makeup Artist Dallas Texas Loves outdoors, walking, spending time with my family. My 4 year old grandaughter is an ANGEL!!!!

In the fall of 2005 I decided to start losing weight by making slight adjustments in my diet. First, I switched from sodas to diet drinks. In the spring of 2006 I started laying off the burgers and fries and other fast food. I also began to study the calories in certain foods and condiments. Simply by being congnizant of calories in certain foods and making choices, my weight dropped from 258 to 214.5lbs. Now that I am out of the obese range, I want to get out of the overweight range for the usual reasons - reduce my risk of diabetes, heart disease, etc. Besides, if those people on The Biggest Loser can do it, I figure that I can, too. I just need to learn how to do it. In time, I am confident that I can do it. My plan has worked so far. I just need to continue to make adjustments.

I am happily married with one son and now living in Texas just moved here from Florida. I have tried every diet known to man and am always starting another diet come Monday. I eat fairly healthy but love my red wine!!

I am 26 year-old female. Since getting hitched in June 2006, I have gained about 10 pounds. So I have realized that my metabolism isn't nearly as high as it used to be. Sadly, I can no longer "get away" with eating sweets, eating out, and drinking sodas. I joined a gym one month ago. It is across the street from my workplace. I am an instructor for a Kids' Gym. The job keeps me active, but not enough to help me lose weight. It also keeps me busy and adds a little stress to my life. So working out before work, or during my lunch hour has given me a positive outlet. I hope that by joining this site, I can gain some support and accountability. I am starting to feel discouraged because I have only lost 2 pounds in one month. Hopefully my workouts will become more intense, and I will continue to eat healthy so that I can achieve my goal!

I am a 32 year old woman from Dallas, Texas. I am doing Weight Watchers and am looking for encouragement and support to keep going.

My name is Delia and I am from Dallas. I am 33 years old, in a commited relationship.

Dallas transplant - from Florida. Overweight my whole life but seriously overweight about 7 or 8 years now. Quit smoking two months ago. On a journey here folks!!!

I am a computer techno-geek. I am also an Amateur Radio Operator.

I am 50 years old, a tough decade to enter. I have been in the chemical manufacturing industry for most of my adult life. I am a transplanted New Englander, (grad of Boston College) but now a true Texan. I have been active and fit my whole life but imagine my surprise when perimenopause struck and 50 hit like a ton of bricks...weight just snuck up on me and I cannot seem to get rid of it like I was once able.

Working mom of 3 girls, married to a man that can eat anything and not worry about gaining weight!

I work for a local school system as a deaf ed. interpreter. I'm off this summer and am enjoying my time off. I'm taking this time to work on ME. To tone down and look good.

22. f. Dallas. Weight: 07/2006: 237 05/2007: 226 Measurements 10/08/2007: PMS: Arm: 15.75" Bust (Above): 44.25" Bust (Below): 41.25" Waist (Narrowest): 39" Waist (Navel): 39.5" Hips: 43.5" I am 5'10" so I usually have a hard time seeing that I've gained weight, particularly since my weight goes to my upperbody not lower body (I was a size 12 up until 210). I have been always slightly overweight, but now after these pictures, I see I have a lot of work to do on myself.

I am 5'5 and now weigh 186 which is 10lbs below the worst I have ever gotten. My goal weight is around 140 but the closest I have ever gotten was 155 and I was freaking hot. Needless to say I need to find my way back to being 155!!!! I am 23 and live in Addison, TX. I just graduated with my undergrad in May and now have some serious weight to lose that was accumulated throughout college! I enjoy exercise when I do but my motivation BLOWS!!!! I like to cycle and walk (running isn't my forte but I do that occasionally too.) I have been dieting all my life so now I just need to loose the weight and keep it off!!!! Oh did I mention I have a food problem. I binge eat... then eat really healthy for a while and then go crazy!

I've lost almost 30 pounds. ******UPDATE - I've lost almost 40 pounds! 165 to 126. Took almost 3 years. *** Feel free to read my daily notes for tips on using this site, and for other helpful ideas to help you with your weightloss and fitness journey. Let me know your thoughts!

I was originally a journalist but now work in marketing. My husband and I moved to Dallas 11 years ago. I have issues with willpower -- I start off great, but my motivation and enthusiasm flag quickly unless I see results. I'm also an impulse eater -- this does not serve me well at the office, where it seems someone always has goodies at his/her desk.

I am 28 married and drive a semi for a living. I use to be in great shape and run 6 miles a day. Now I have become so out of shape that it is time to do something about it. Hope to meet my goals and at the same time maybe meet new friends in the progress.

I'm a 23 year old female from Texas. I recently went to graduate school and gained a lot of weight because I eat when I'm stressed out.

I'm 23 years old, and have been slightly overweight my whole life. Stress recently got the better of me and I gained more weight - I want to get down to an ACTUALLY healthy weight. I don't want to look like a Victoria's Secret model or anything, I just want to be comfortable in my own skin again.

30 year old married male. Looking to lose some weight and train for the MS150 in May. Have lost weight in the past and I keep gaining it back. Also, we are looking to have kids in the near future and I want to have more energy for that.

I'm a 39 yo freelance writer and editor. I have been through a lot of transition in the past few years and have had trouble sticking to an exercise plan. I have a fella that's really supportive, but I'm still feeling very new in my somewhat new city and I feel like it's a struggle to stay on track. I used to live in a walking city and now it's all car culture. Quite a shift that I didn't compensate for! Anyway, now that things have calmed down, I feel like I'm temporarily stuck with the transition bod that just doesn't fit me. I just want to feel confident again and have my creative side show up in my clothing once more.

I'm a 28 year old female, currently weighing about 165, and my metabolism has drastically dropped! I can't lose weight the way I used to, and my job doesn't help (I sit at a desk all day long). So starting today, I'm going to be going on a strict diet and exercising regularly. The calculator says I should be eating 1300 calories a day to lose weight, hopefully, I can stick to that.

I had the Y-En route Gastric Bypass in July 2013, and I am mainly concerned about the weight loss. I have lost 30 pounds since the surgery, but I am at a plateau now for 2 weeks. I eat 59 grams of protein daily as per my dietician, which is supposed to increase my weight loss. Is there any one else out there simular to me or been through this experience?
