I am in my 50s and enjoy reading. I plan to bicycle a lot this year in order to help lose the extra weight.

I, too, am in my 50's and deal with some health issues. I'm a wife, mother, and grandmother. I need to begin with walking and building from there.

Not crazy about exercising. Reading is one of my favourite things to do. I have PCOS, which makes it easy to gain weight and difficult to lose. I had gestational diabetes in 3 pregnancies, so am high risk to become a diabetic when I'm older.

Jan. 21, 2007--Hi, I'm Ellen and I weigh 289 pounds. My highest weight ever was 312 pounds---I've maintained the 23 pounds I lost for over a year. I know that I will be able to loose between 100--120 pounds (not sure of my goal--I'm 5'10" with a large bone frame). I plan to start with exercising daily; specifically, I plan to walk 15--30 minutes and use my stairs for 15 minutes 4 to 5 times a week. As far as food, I plan to do one week on the cabbage soup diet and then look to making healthy food choices. I'm excited about this group. I'm a mother of 3 grown children, grandmother of 4 of the best grandchildren in the world, and a Special Education Teacher--a job that I enjoy. Also, I am a Spirit filled woman who believes that, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

I've been married 18 years, have 2 children, now teenagers. I work at a local college. I like to read, watch movies with my family, bible study, scrapbook. I've been overweight most of my life and have been on many diets, only to be discouraged after a few weeks.

I am married and have one little boy (4 years old). I work full time as an RN at a local hospital. I am lucky because my husband is overweight also and he can be a big support for me. Current weight 242

i am a mother of 3 . All boys, 2 are married and 1 at home. I am a preachers wife . we live a very active life style. we have camps, mission trips all coming up. I am diabetic, and its getting me down I love to travel

Mother of 2 teenagers. husband of 19 years. I am a secretary so I sit a lot.

I am a stay at home...although we are not at home much...Kids are 3 and 5 ....We live on a ranch in Texas with horses and multiple critters everywhere...i need to get in shape for summer...and forever!

I'm a stay at home mom of 2 kids - a 4 and 6 yr. old. I do a little freelance work on the side, and I alway thought I'd be able to be this amazing workout mom since I do stay at home and have the time to do it. But I figured out that I still have ME to deal with - someone who procrastinates, who always seems to need an event to drive her to lose, rather than making it a lifestyle change. Again, a vacation to the beach is driving me. I always reach my goal. BUT when September roles around...I start slipping. Even though I reach my goal, I need motivation and support. I also like to be there for others who need true accountability, exhortation, and a lot of transparency and humor so we can accomplish our goals with our sanity in tact.

I am 51 years old, happily married for 31 years with 3 kids and 6 grandbabies. I am a writer/psychologist/preacher and work from home. (My husband and I pastored for 20 years, but we are now working in other directions.)

I am a mother of two teenage boys. My cerrent weight is 180 pounds.I am only 5ft 3in. This is the biggest I have ever been.I just turned 35 and high blood pressure, heart problems run in my family.

Mom of 3 college kids...time now to focus on ME! I believe in the Mind, Body, Spirit connection, but had let my walk with God slide, after my divorce. I have put God 1st in my life, again , and I'm ready to work on my Body & Mind. I recently had a medical scare; I want to decrease my chance of developing cancer, diabetes, & heart disease. I use to be active; I want to roller skate, swim, & snow ski, again. I want to throw away the black/baggy clothes and stop avoiding cameras. I need to develop healthier ways to deal with my stressors. I am joining this site to utilize the support system; I need your help to overcome stumbling blocks.

I am a 57 year old Christian who is married with two grown sons. I will be retiring from teaching next year. I recently ended a music ministry held for 37 years and my husband and I are very active in our church and its missions. The struggle I've had with eating has affected me negatively for many years and I want to give it over to God once and for all.

I just turned 42 years old. I am a wife and mother. I work as a nanny during the day. I'm very involved with my church in the evenings and on weekends. My weight has yo-yoed all my life, but this is the heaviest I've ever been. I was pretty thin before I got pregnant, so I 've had a taste of being noticed in a bikini and would like to have that again before I go off into "grannyland"

I am 43 years old married to my husband for 16 years and have 4 children. We are very active parents and are kept very busy. I long for a little free time to myself.

WORK AT NITE 6 TO 6

I am an almost 40 year old stay at home mom. I have 3 kids. A 12 year old son, a 3 year old daughter and a 1 year old son. I am going back to school beginning this summer, with a goal of becoming an RN and being ready to go to work in about 5 years. My husband is an electrician. We lived in Alaska about 4 years ago and loved it. Hope to move back someday. My goal is to get fit and lose at least 30 pounds, I would really like to be down 15 by the end of June.

I work part time as a secretary in the ER. I've been married 31 years and we have 6 kids ages 28,26,23,20,18,14 - four boys and two girls. I originally got fat when one of my boys had leukemia but he's been in remission for 16 years! I'm a homeschooler (23 years and counting), quilter, and reader. In my previous life I hated exercise and vegetables and loved potato chips, but I'm working on a paradigm shift.

I am actually 33, married, have an almost 16 year old daughter. Work full time in the space industry and go to school full time. On top of all that, I have 5 dogs. I have always struggled w/ weight, lost it before a couple times but always gained it back. I would like to loose about 80 lbs and feel good again. I am actually at a turning point in my life w/ my daughter graduating high school next year and myself to get my Bachelors degree later this summer. I want to finally become the teacher I always wanted to be and w/ the degree/career, I'd like to start off healthy.

I'm 48 and a mother of 2. and a grandmother of 1. i've been happily married for 31 years. i really need help to lose this weight that has creeped up on me. i went on hrt for menopause and gained 10 pounds right away. i would love to get that and more off.

41 yr. old mom of 4, work part time

52 year old mother of two college kids and a young adult getting ready to go back to grad school. Busy life working full time, volunteering, going to kids sporting events. I am a creative person, but that also equates to disorganization sometimes because I am busy creating something....But that's ok, God has blessed me in many ways and will help me along the way.

I am a 36 year old female. Have been married 3 years. I work in the banking industry. I am a Christian - Jesus is my Lord and Savior. I am totally into Dave Ramsey and am debt free except my house. Talk radio is always on in my office. Big movie fan. I was diagnosed with Lupus 5 years ago. My husband and I love love our 2 cats but are wanting to have a human baby :-)

I am a 34 year old married at-home mom of a kindergardener. I have Scleroderma and am currently on prednisone to manage my fatigue and arthritis. I gained the extra 30 this fall after being put on the prednisone and it has been difficult to get off. Other than the extra weight, I feel great. I am looking to become a hottie mom (for hubby) or atleast look good in my capri pants and tank top at school pick up. Hubby is currently trying to lose 100lbs. I volunteer at school, teach children's church and lead a ladies bible study. I ready to make my fitness a priority.

I live in NH I have two great kids 17 & 4. And ya you guessed it I love food. I am a creative type so yes I love to create in the kitchen and yes every meal has to be a master piece. Hence I and my husband are now struggling to be happy with regular food and now have a weight problem in the ball park of needing to lose 80 pounds. WOW! That sounds unobtainable!

48 yrs. old and married almost 28 years to a guy who is not sure he wants to be married. Believing God to do a miracle in my marriage. ER nurse who LOVES medical missions.

I am a 36 year old mother of 3 children, a 7 year old daughter and twin 4 year old boys. I have been overweight since I was a kid, and have only lost weight for short periods of time, only to gain it back and then some. The most success I had on a diet was the South Beach, and I loved it because I wasn't constatnly hungry and had lots of energy.

I am a single mom of 3 boys. I never seem to have enough time for anything other than the basics. Work, kids, cooking, cleaning, and sleeping. I would like to learn to incorporate exercise into my life. Not just for me but also for my kids. As a kid I was super skinny. Completely obsessive about my size and weight. So obsessive I became anorexic and belimic at the same time. I was hospitilized and everything seemed fine. Then kids and age creeped up on me and my obsession with diet and excercise turned to an obsession with food. Im totally compensating for the lack of love in my life. Food is the best lover because it never has abandoned me. Your BMI & Target Weight: Current Weight: 225.0 Healthy Weight Range: 121.7-163.8 Daily Calorie Goal: 1,575 UNDER HEALTHY OVER OBESE Your Ideal BMI: 24 Your BMI: 34.2

I'm 38 and a single mom to two teenage boys. I've watched as my weight has crept up year after year, and now as I see 40 around the corner, I'm determined to get healthy and fit BEFORE it gets here.

I am a single parent of 2. My daughter is 23 and my son is 10. I enjoy family oriented activites and spend the majority of my leisure time with my children and boyfriend.

I am a 38 year old stay at home mom. I have been a foster parent for 7 years and have adopted one child and in the process of adopting two more. I spend so much time caring for our kids and have stopped taking care of myself. My weight has crept up year after year and I am now at an all time high of 249.

I am 59, a Christian, married for 33 years, 4 adult children and 5 grandchildren. All my adult life until age 41, I weighed between 120-125. Then three medical issued surfaced: early menopause, hypothyroidism, and bipolar. In 2000 I weighed 190. That year following my own modified Atkins diet, I got down to 135. But I was soon back up to 175. In 2006 I was down to 140 but now I am back up to 160.

I'm a stay at home Mom with 2 kids. I was recently watching a couple of shows on DayStar. One, Joyce Meyers said that sometimes we are stuck in the boat (like the 11 disciples) and we need to just take the first step *out* of the boat. Well, I'm doing that today. With God's help I know that I can do it! The other show had a preacher that gave me this line: Hindered, but not defeated. I have felt defeated with regards to my weight, but I've just been hindered. I'm not defeated!

I am a 40 year old mother of 3 (11, 9, 3). I own my own photography studio and am very, very busy. Ihave not always been overweight. I was very thin in high school and college. THen the wieght began to creep on. But now, I have a compulsive, addictive type eating issue. I binge quite frequently (but I don't purge). I am quite frankly, miserable.

I"m 41, newly divorced.

I am a Christian living with my husband in the Panhandle section of Florida. I just got my preaching license and want to be fit again so I will have the energy to do all that the Lord has for me to do for His Kingdom.

I am a 47 year old female who weighs 237. I have been up and down on a roller coaster ride all my life. I am trying to stay focus and cater to me for a change. I have been focusing on others needs and wants and not attending to myself. i was reading in a magazine about peertrainerand I figure I would join it as a support system.

I am 36 years old, married to my dh since August 2005. I work full time as a teacher. I live in New Jersey, near the shore. I am a Christian and want to honor God by treating my body/His temple in the healthiest way possible: with His foods.

I live in Brooklyn. I have been trying to lose weight alone and it is not working, so I hope this group will help me.

Hello. I am a 39....soon to be 40!...year old mom of a 6yo daughter and 7yo son and I've been married for 16 years. I have 70lbs to lose and need as much help and support as I can find. I am a PT nurse one night a week, love going to church and stay busy homeschooling our kids. I love my family and want to be here for them as long as I can and need to lose weight so that can happen. I have been having blood pressure problems and controlling it all comes down to losing weight. I am looking forward to getting to know the other moms here :-)

I'm soon to be 49 years young. In January, my husband and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary. (Married my high school sweetheart). We have 2 grown daughters and 3 wonderful grandson's. We are animal lovers and have the animals to prove it (3 dogs, 5 barn cats, 2 goats, 1 goose, 2 ducks and a barn yard full of chickens.) I'm a Realtor with plans of getting my Appraisal license before the end of the year. In my spare time I enjoy boating, gardening, reading and spending time with my kids and grandkids.

My husbabnd works a full-time job aand he is the associate of student ministies at our church. I am homeshchooling our girls and supporting him in his ministry so we are very busy and always on the go. I don't enjoy cooking so we have eat out alot or eat a lot of frozen meals. God has laid it on my heart to get my energy back by losing weight and becoming healther. So here goes..............

I am a 41 year old wife and mother of a precious 6 year old boy. I stay busy teaching second grade, being team mom in little league and being involved in church activities. I have been out of high school for over 20 years and have gradually put on 100 extra pounds!

I am a mom of 5 (13 11, 7, 3, and 9 mos) and tired of feeling FAT. I love carbs, I could live off of bread, ice cream, and soda. To me, ice cream is its own food group and deserves a place on the food pyramid!

I just turned 38. Married 19 years. I have 4 kids. My daughter is 19, my son's are 17,14, and 1. I need to lose 50 lbs. I've been over weight for a long time. I don't beleive in surgery for weight lose, i feel that it is the easy and lazy way out.

I'm a married Christian mother of two. I have an eight year old son and a four year old daughter.

I'm an almost 37 year old Christian female, married 9 years with one child - a darling, energetic 4 1/2 year old. I gained at lot of weight after I got married. I recently hit my all time high weight. Argh.

I am a single mom to a 14 yr old daughter. I have a very hectic schedule and need to find some "me" time.

I am a stay-at-home mom with two children, Joshua (18) and Brittany (17). I have never lost much weight. I've needed to loose 10 or 15 pounds since I was 29 years old. I am now 45 years old.

I'm a homeschooling mom of 4, ages 2-13. With each kid I've gained a little more and a little more until suddenly I'm 170 pounds! I'm so tired of being embarrassed by my body all the time, especially with my husband. He's tired of it, too!

I am a 41 year old mother of 4 and I have a 2 yr old grand-daughter. My children are 24, 17, 15, & 13. We home school and stay very busy. Our 24 year old moved in with us in October with her 2 year old daughter, so it is never a dull moment at our house. I had a rude awakening at my husband's fitness fair at his jobsite and now I am more determined than ever to lose weight. I am miserable. My test results showed that I was overweight, my cholesterol was High Risk, and my Glucose level was pre-diabetes. I weighed in at 155 and would like to at least get back down to 125. I am 5' 4" and love carbs and bread!

married,36 yrs old. last time i logged on to my account was in july of 2007. i need help!! i stopped working out for more than a year. i've gained weight and feel really frustrated. can't seem to get back on track. have a hard time motivating myself to workout and eat right.

Having dealt with weight issues for most of my life (5+ decades), this is a last ditch effort to "get it right". I began this journey at 324 lbs on Sept 5, 2007 under a medically-supervised weight-loss program. As of last weight in I was 43.2 lbs closer to my 165 lb weight-loss goal. I work full-time as a computer systems analyst.ever married or had children, caregiver to my 85 y/o mom who suffers from Altzheimers/Dementia, and is visually impaired, olest sister of 5, and we sisters are very close to one another even now. very active in the music, women's and outreach ministries at my church.

I am 47 years old with two grown daughters. I raised them alone. I have three grandchildren, with two on the way. I have always been a little overweight, but since I hit 35, I have really put on weight. I have always been strong and take pride in this, however I have lost lots of my strength and energy.

42 years old Married 2 teenage children 2 grade school step children 2 dogs Full time employed - Management position

Am 49 years old. Mom to 8 ( youngest is 16) and 4 daughter-in-laws . Also am Mimi to 7 grandaughters. Am VERY busy and that has been one of my excuses. Purchased my own business during the past year and went from working 25 hours outside of home weekly to 60 or more. Lots of stress too.

I am a 43-year-old stay-at-home mom of a boy, 9, and a girl, 5. My husband, to whom I've been married for almost 15 years, is a newspaper journalist. I have struggled with my weight all of my life, usually hovering at about 20 lbs above my ideal weight. I have only reached my goal weight (about 135) a few times, and for what seemed like about five minutes, before I started gaining again. I love my life, except for the ongoing daily struggle I have with self-control. I don't eat right, I don't get enough sleep, and I can be extremely inconsistent with other goals I have set for myself. I need help and am committed to logging and keeping up with posting in PeerTrainer!

I have been married 25 years we have 3 wonderful children I have a 5 year old grandbaby, my youngest has just turned 11 so they both are jealous of each other and fight for the most attention. lol (makes me pull my hair out!) I teach at a christian school in my community, I use to work out in the secular world, but do to my health I can not do that anymore, I love my job, I know the Lord brought me to it, It keeps me sane. My husband is not in real good health, so getting out around people I think keeps me alive, plus I work with a great bunch of kids... I get to work with k-4 all the way through the 12th grades. I love the kids, and I think they like me too! :) Not to mention, I just feel it is where the Lord wants me for now.

I am 43 yrs. old, a Christian, part-time student, stay-at-home mother to three lovely girls (20,18,14) and one delightful boy(9). As the children have gotten older, I find I have more ME time and would love to accomplish some personal goals I used to dream about. My husband of 23 years works very long hours so I have the time, I just need to come up with a plan and DO IT.

I'm a stay at home mom (41 yrs.) for two active, young boys.

I have been married to Alex for 42 years. We have 2 married children and 4 grandchildren. We serve with a mission called Pioneers which is an international sending agency - seeking to send missionaries to the 'LOGIN' people of the world - people of 'Least Opportunity - Greatest In Need'. We also have a Soul Care ministry in our home which includes counseling, a Soul Care Resource lending library, small group Soul Care retreats. I love the Lord and am fully surrendered to doing and being all He has for me ODAAT - One Day At A Time.

I am a 36 year old Christian stay at home mom of 4 kids, ages 5 months to 8 years. I have actually been pregnant six times ( two miscarriages) so my body has taken a beating in the last 8 years. I have always had good metabolism and so I could eat whatever I wanted. Now it is catching up with me. My mom also subtly put on weight and has never been able to keep it off. I want to be a mom who is active with my kids.

I am 39 and a mother of 2 teenagers. I continue to gain weight and have reached a point where I am totally uncomfortable in my body. I have an extreme sweet tooth and food is a definate comfort for me.

I am a 40-something, married, work at home mom (childcare provider). We have two of our own children - one graduates from high school this spring- where did the time go? My days are busy (8 full time children in my care) and the extra weight I am dragging around each day is exhausting me.

47 year old living in Philly, though also still strongly tied to my Minnesota roots. I used to teach third grade. Now do volunteer work with kids and women in our inner-city church.

I'm 37 years old...married with one daughter and 3 cats. My struggle with weight began about 10 years ago. I have perfected the art of yo-yo dieting, but recently reached the dreaded 200 mark...something I vowed never to let happen. I have allowed my circumstances and emotions to dictate what I eat for too long now and am ready to make some changes with the support of others facing the same challenges.

I'm a SAHM, with a daughter 10 and sons 9 and 5, and a great husband! I raise chickens, enjoy computer games, love animals, and enjoy gardening. I'm a country girl!

I am 46 married with 4 daughters

I was relatively normal weight until I had my two great kids (13&15). Then I ballooned up to 225lbs. I stayed pretty much at that weight until about 6 or 7 years ago when I started making gradual changes in my lifestyle. I started eating healthy one step at a time and gradually added exercise to my routine. I started with a little walking and then added doing the eliptical at the Y. About 2 years ago I was between 180 and 190 and I really made some distinct changes in cutting fat and cholesterol from my diet. That's when some yo-yoing started. I want to live my life as a normal weighted person. Right now, I would like to finally (once and for all) get this last 30 pounds off and be free to just live in my pre-kid healthy body...if that's possible. I am happily married (20years). I am a devoted mother of two beautiful kids (11& 14). I work full-time as a teacher's aide in ELL (teaching kids who speak other languages). I am a part-time college student.

I am married, 3 children, and currently working full time and going to school fulltime online.

The idea of online support is new to me and now that a few days have passed since joining and figuring out how this site works, I should probably intoduce myself. Hi I am Renda. I am a married 38 year old Canadian, and mother of 3 busy boys 13, 9, and 6. I do administrative work in a very health conscious environment and have a great employer who stresses the importance of family first and then work.

I have three grown children, a husband who is laid off, and I work full time.

I am a wife and mother. I dedicate most of my time to my children, husband and church.

I'm 46 years old. I'm married to an amazing man. After being laid off for 14 months, I'm grateful to have a job though not what I want to continue to be doing. Still need to develop my goals.

I am a Christian 38 year old mother of 3 teenage kids, 19,16 and youngest 13.

I am a 38 year old mother of 4 (15, 9, 7, 2) I am madly in love with my husband of 12 yrs . We live in a small town in Texas, about 3500 pop.. I have a garden in back and it is something I love ,reading and cooking and canning are a few other things I enjoy. I volunteer with the community garden association to try to feed the community. We attend the Colorado River Cowboy Church. I was never over weight until after my 3rd child and I reached my heaviest weight. I still lost the extra lbs and was a very healthy 155 when i got preg. with our 4th child . I was starting to lose some weight when I started trying to quit smoking and since then have gained. I have not completely quit but I am down to about 2 cigs a day. SO with Jesus' help I will quit all together and lose the extra lbs. and be the healthy woman he created me to be. I love you Lord and thank you for my life!!!!

I'm 49 but I tell everyone I am 33. :) I was a thin size 8 until I got pregnant with my youngest boy--I gained 100 lbs. with him. I can't seem to stick on a diet anymore. They last about 2 hours no matter how good my intentions are. I have three boys. I am now doing Mother's Day Out at my church 2 days a week.

I`m married, and a homeschooling mom with 5 children, ages 13 to 5 months. I`m nursing my baby,so that makes it a challenge to figure out how to eat well,so I can produce enough milk, and still drop pounds.I`m about 48 pounds heavier than when I got married almost 15 years ago.

2 school age children, work part time

I never thought I could lose weight and was resigned to ballooning out as I've been thin all my childhood with never caring what I ate or how much junk food it contained. Then suddenly I was 40 and 163 lbs. I'm on the tall side (5' 9") but with my structure I think around 140 lbs would be best. I've managed to get to 151 so far, but now I haven't moved from that weight for over six months and I need to get my focus back. I'm hoping this will help.

I am a volleyball coach and a physical education instructor. I enjoy spending time with family and friends.

I am 52 yo. A hair stylist and mom of 2 boys, the eldest is marrying in 2 months. We have a pontoon that we spend most of the summer on and of course, wear bathing suits. I just want one time to buy a suit that I don't have to worry about how big my stomach will look in it.

I am married with a 17 year old daughter. I have dieted my whole life with very little success. I am determined to be 50 pounds less by the 50th birthday. I am giving myself a very long goal which is more attainable for me. I am doing weight watchers at home.

I'm 40, mother of two girls, and a stay-at-home mom. My weight has crept up over the past 8 years or so. I've read practically every book on the market, and tried many different diets/eating plans...I have tons of head knowledge but just need the accountability and discipline to follow through.

I just turned 48 in April, 2010. I am married with 3 kids, 2 still at home. I homeschool my children, and love to grow things (mostly bulbs) My family are Christian, and we try to follow God's word for our lives. We are trying to do what God has instructed, and sorry when we disappoint Him. Mercifully, we are forgiven by His grace. I

I have been overweight since my last child was born and really need to lose those extra pounds! Very excited to be part of this group!

I'm very interested in the connection between exercise and mental health, and my focus is on spending time each day on mind, body, and spirit in the most fun ways ethical and possible. I'm 42 and became the youngest empty nester I knew three years ago when both of my adult children moved out. They joined our family through adoption as older children, so the age difference between us is less than one would expect. I'm now a proud young grandma of one, with another on the way. For the last couple of years, I've been something of a suicide prevention advocate. My goal is to spread the word that the major causes of suicide are medical conditions (depression and bipolar disorder) which are highly treatable. Professionally, I work full-time at a non-profit organization teaching communication and independent living skills to adults with combined vision and hearing loss. My own children are Deaf, so this was a natural position for me.

I'm a mom of two boys, a wife of 18 yrs, a teacher of a mixed age group, and have of a love of Jesus and an Awesome God.
