I am a single 30yo female. I have lost 30 lbs since July '08. I have hit a 5+ month plateau. I currently weigh 160 lbs. I want to lose 20 more lbs. I hope that you can help me get there! Im trying so hard, but I am now getting discouraged. I work out 6 days a week. I do both cardio and weight training.
I log my workouts and what I eat in a book I take to the gym. I also drink protein shakes for breakfast and post workout.

I'm 15 years old and ready to lose weight for summer. I play lots of sports, but my problem is binge eating and gaining all the weight back.

23/f-overweight most of my life...I believe it's due to the choices in my household. After moving out at 18, I was able to lose 20 lbs. and now going back to my house I see all the fatty foods and sweets that were also available while I was there.

I'm a 43 year old office worker. I like going to the gym but never stay there long enough to make any impact. I weigh 15 stone and my ideal weight is 12 stone so I have a lot of work to do to get to my target.

I am 32 with one son, 11 yrs old plus two 'bonus' children, 10 (boy) and 13 (girl). I live with my boyfriend and son and the other two kids are with us half time. We ride motoX alot with the kids and spend a lot of time at other activities with them, bmx racing, etc.

I am a 22-year-old mother of one (a son that is 2). I'm a certified nurse's assistant, but i'm currently taking time to be at home with my son. I've always been a little bit on the "fluffy" side, but never really obese or heavily overweight. It wasn't until I was through with my pregnancy that I'd noticed I'd gained 60lbs. and it hasn't yet really gone away.

Somethings about me I'm 20 years old 5foot 8inches tall, very outgoing have no kids, Hate working out.

I've been gaining weight for the past few years, especially since I moved in with my partner. Happy home life has led to lazy habits and I'm happy to be 'nesting' but not happy that I am [according to the scale I finally bought...took a deep breath...and used today] now EXACTLY 200 pounds and size 17-18.

I am married to my best friend which seems to be the problem he loves me no matter how much i weigh. so i want to love myself as much as he loves me. and i want to make better life choices. i have 2 children son who is 11 daughter who is 9

i'm a student; i work as well, and i paintball and run. I wish to lose weight and get healthier!

I'm 18 years old and I had an epiphany a few weeks before joining this site. I realized that I want to live the life of an 18 year old and no be stuck in this body that is no where near 18-- I just needed some help to do it. I just started my freshman year of college and I'm proud to say that I actually have not gained the dreaded freshmen 15. I'm looking to lose more though. I want to live a healthier lifestyle and feel like a better person.

I have been off work and have packed the pounds on.....when I am back working I am in the bush 8-12 hours a day timber cruising travelling distances up to 6 km on foot through rough terrain....however... I've plumped right up- One reason is also some medication that I am on as a result of PTSD treatment- I was warned that I would see some weight gain, but my lack of selfcontrol when it comes to the candy dish and baking has seen a little more than what can really ybe blamed on meds.

I'm 6'0 and 18 years old. The last 17 years I was constantly told by doctors and family members that I could always gain a few pounds because of my height. I took that way too far. One year and fifty pounds later, I'm in a viscious cycle of bad habits.

I am going to lose 50 pounds before the year is through. It feels great to make that statement, and I know it will feel even better as I begin to make that happen. My reasons for wanting to lose weight are grounded in my personal health, but I cannot deny the positive impact this change will make on my entire life. Not just the losing of the weight, but the process itself; the fitness and the improved nutrition
I'm a 22 year old woman who has let her priorities get way out of whack for far too long.

I am a 27 year old consultant in Canada. I live with my boyfriend of ten years (no kids yet). In my youth I was very active and enjoyed a variety of sports, swimming in particular. I used to workout seven days a week but over the past eight years I just seemed to quit everything. The more weight that I gained, the less I wanted to get out a do anything. I hardly ever swim anymore because I don't want to wear my swimsuit even though it was something I loved. Now I am just starting to get back into the world of exercise and still find it a struggle to make myself get to the gym even though I know I feel so much better after I go. I am currently at 210# and my goal is 140#.

27 years old.
Spend most of my day sitting...some call this "sedentary."
If my body were as active during the day as my mind I would be so incredibly buff right now. :)

I'm a very active person... my days are jam packed from start to finish. Due to my lack of time, I usually have only a small amount of time to eat, so the name of the game is to eat quickly- this typically means that I over consume food. Well, all of that is about to change!

I am a 19yr old student studying Event Management in Sydney, Australia. I have had weight and self image problems for most of my life. I want to take control of my life! I love food and have a lack of self control. I need to get motivated because I want to be happier and healthier and feel good about myself.

I like to play video games. Have eating addictions like sweets and junk.

I am 31 years old from Boston and have a 4 year old daughter. I previously lost 90lbs (starting at 250lbs or so) but gained it all back and then some with my pregnancy. I was able to lose it through WW and exercise and am at the lightest I have EVER been. I am bouncing between 162 and 168 but am in a size 8. I am thrilled about this but of course I want more (or less maybe) and would like to just lose 10 more. I was doing well until I began vigorously working out at the gym last summer and began gaining weight... I have a better understanding of this and why it happens but can still feel discouraging. I am in a six month program to become a personal trainer and LOVE IT!

I'm 30 and married. I started gaining a lot of weight during a very stressful period before the wedding. I had to buy another dress because my first one didn't fit. Despite what a glorious and happy day it was, I get quite sad when I look at the pictures and see how big I look. I'd gained even more since then, and I have been actively trying to lose it since September. I am currently at 205 lbs. My highest weight was 230 lbs.

I am a 31-year-old working mother of 2. It was always so easy for me lose weight, yoyo-ing most of my adult life. After my second pregnancy which was 3 years ago, it has gotten impossible for me to lose weight suddenly. I am carrying about 25-30 lbs of extra weight around and really feeling it.

i'm a 19yr old student looking to lose 8lbs.
recently lost 18lbs, but realised that i was too skinny, not the toned look i wanted, so i began eating more.
but with that, my weight has gradually increased by 10lbs so far, because once i reintroduced more foods, i started bingeing and everything got out of hand.
now i wish to lose around 8lbs. this time though, i hope to keep it off!

I am 44 years old, married & live in Minnesota. I am very athletic, into many sports such as competitive league tennis, biking, walking, inline skating and cross country skiing. However, this past year, I have really struggled with my weight! As of today, I weighed in at 153.4 :-(( This is really hard for me to admit in public that I weigh that much. I start looking like a stocky German at this weight.
I had success 2 years ago with the Weight Watchers program and I lost about 15 pounds on it. However, I have gained it all back in 2 years. I do moderate levels of exercise on a regular basis and just don't understand why it is so hard to lose weight these days!

Hello everyone, let me tell you a little about myself. I am a student / Substitute Teacher and a full time mom to two beautiful children. I am probably the youngest of the group, I am 23 and I am from Brownsville, TX. My daughter is 2 yrs and my son is 2 months old. I have always struggled with my weight since I was a little girl. The thinnest I have ever been is 170 and the heaviest i have ever been is 256 but my current weight right now is about 241. I look at my self and i really dont like what I see. I tried joining the gym but it is really hectic coming and going and also finding someone to watch the kids. But the main reason is that i really dont feel comfortable exercising infront of strangers. I also realized that I became a compulsive eater. I am very aware of it but I figured that if I found a suppoert group maybe there i can find others that can root for me and maybe that can make me stronger. That is why I am here, I NEED HELP!

Hello all! I call myself Desperately Seeking Skinny! I was once that girl...I'd like to be that girl again. I have yo-yo'd my entire life....but my string broke and I'm stuck in the "up" position, and at the highest I've ever been. I really have a hard time w/ staying on track. It seems like my will power has been attacked by kryptonite. I'm hoping to meet people that have felt my pain and know the daily struggle of mom, full time job, possibly getting divorced and love food....it just doesn't love me back!
I haven't always been twice the woman I once was! In my prime, I was 110lbs with a ton of energy. Ah, then life set in...I'm(30, 4'11", 155lbs)a first time mommy of an 11 month old girl. I do have a husband, but it looks like we're facing divorce. So not only am I needing to lose 40+lbs...I need emotional support also!!!!! I work full time and take care of my child at night and weekends, so finding time to do things right is challenging in itself. It doesn't help that I LOVE food. All kinds and everything. It's just hard to control. Is there anyone out there that can help???????I could use a friend.

I am 18 years old and sick of feeling fat. I just found out that I weigh more than my boyfriend and that just pushed me over the edge. My sister's wedding is in september and I want to feel confident again. I guess you could say I'm kind of a flake.. I'll make plans as to how I am going to lose weight but then lose track of my goal. I need help staying organized!!
..(now hes my ex boyfriend!)
need to lose weight!!

I'm in my mid-20's and sick and tired of getting fatter and fatter every year. I know it's only going to be harder to lose weight as I get older, so I need to start some new habits now that my metabolism is fairly snappy. I'm a bartender, so while I don't get a ton of exercise every day, my job keeps me on my feet and moving for a good six or seven hours, six days a week.

I'm an almost 44 year old Mother of two boys ages 12 and 10, married 17 mostly happy years. I'm a stay at home Mom and for the most part, I love this life. I volunteer a lot in the schools. I spend a lot of time outdoors, hiking with my dog and friends. I joined and journaled on Peer Trainer this past spring and lost five pounds. More importantly however, I was eating better. Then I lost motivation for the daily journaling and my old habits started creeping back. I don't need to lose weight, just eat better to feel better and prevent putting it back on.

Ready to get back in shape. I used to be fairly active and didn't have to worry about what I ate in a day. I work in education from 9-5 and after work I am a full time student in an MBA program. My goal is to be 30 puonds lighter by Graduation in the spring.

I'm 43 yrs old and I have two grown sons that live on their own, I work in an emergancy room as an LVN, I do enjoy my job, but sometimes it can be real stressful, I enjoy reading and meeting people, I live with my boyfriend, he also works in the e.r., he's a physician and wants me to look and feel my best. My life has been through so many changes over the last few yrs that I have become even more of an emotional eater, food seems to be the number one thing I turn to and it's having negative consequences on all areas of my life.

I am 60 yrs old. Been over weight all my life. Tired of dieting , I feel like there are other things more important. But this is for health reasons. I am married for 43 yrs, have 5 grown children and 3 grands, But they all live away, so we rarely get to see any of them.I am alone most of the time. So, it's not easy.

Always been a tiny little thing. Like feed that girl a cookie style, And It just caught up to me over the past year.

I am 45 years old, married with one child in college. Feeling old and achy and need to get my weight under control.

I am 35, single, no kids. I was always skinny growing up (now realizing I was underweight). I have always had issues with food and eating (or not eating). When I moved to AZ, I gained about 30 pounds. Feeling better with weight, but need to tone and strengthen now.

I'm 39, 5'6", 155 lbs. I go to the gym four days a week to weight train and do cardio but lately I've lost my gusto. I'm going to do the P90X workout for the next 12 weeks at home.
I can spare one hour each moring. No excuses. Just do it.
I need to learn patience. Diets don't work for me because I want results now and give up after a week. I know it took a long time to get heavy so it will take time to be where I need to be. I'll do it one meal at a time.

I am 30/F, living in Bay area. My goal is to lose close to 50+ . I was very active( 2 days tennis and 3 days yoga a week)I gained all of this due to thyroid issues and injury. Lost my spirit to workout and now am trying to get it back. Been working out 5+ days a week. mostly walking and cycling. I am looking forward to the group and all the inspirations I can get from here.

I am 30 years old, happily married and have a 3 yr old son. We've recently returned to the states after being in Egypt for 3 years and I must admit, I love to eat. I missed good ol' American food so much that I'm up to 233 lbs at only 5'3. I wear size 26-28. I'm embarrassed at the way I look and because of it choose not to go out as much. I'm wasting my life away at home and am tired of it. I want to live, I want to enjoy life. I want to love myself, who I am, what I look like and be proud.
If any of you have myspace and want to add me please do so.

Changing my mindset! Time to stay focused!

I am an active twenty year old am almost seven months pregnant , have been married a year, and work with one year olds in a preschool.

I'm a 24 year old wife and entrepreneur who rode horses for 13 years. I'm obsessed with Kurt Vonnegut, and I have an affinity for domestic rats :) My husband and I have spent the last two years of our life in a small college town in the Midwest, and are FINALLY moving back to our city of origin in just under a month.
I am more happy, healthy, and fit than I have ever been. I struggled with bulimia and anorexia between the ages of 13 and 20. Even after I wasn't "practicing full time" (so to speak) I still struggled with MAJOR body image issues and disordered thinking.
But all of that is behind me now! How liberating is that?!
I attribute the vast majority of my success to Peer Trainer! Logging my food has done wonders for me. It has motivated me, made me accountable for what goes in my mouth, and enabled me to track my progress.
I am proud of myself!
Oh, and my compulsive logging has rubbed off on my husband as well! While he doesn't use PT, he has started logging all of his calories and eating healthier. And he has lost 12 lbs as a result!

I'm a college senior who is not thrilled about leaving behind her college friends after graduation but is very excited about the future! I love the law and politics and someday hope to be working for a very successful law firm. Who knows, I may even decide to run for office!

My name is makenzie. I live in washington state.
I have struggled with my weight for many years, and just recently i have decided to follow through with a weightloss plan, and get healthy! I am doing this for myself, i desperatley need to lose this weight and change my lifestyle. My dad has suffered with diabetes for 17 years and i dont want to go down that path. I also want to help my dad with his lifestyle changes. My goal is 35 lbs in 4 months, Why 4 months? Well in 4 months I am moving back to my home town, Arizona. There i hope i can arrive with a fresh new start and a healthy lifestyle. Also, it is sunny and hot in Arizona i wont be able to cover up in over sized jackets and t-shirts, and i dont want to half to be embarressed or half to hide my body anymore, i want to be free!!
I hope this goal is reasonable, if not im open for more reasonable suggestions.

I am a music/beat maker, music producer, busy mommy of two brilliant children under age 7, love my lilfe and just need to take more care of myself. I'm 5ft 8in, and I don'tknow my weight, but my legs stay skinny while my muffintop is apparent, and never thought I would ever have one of those, my arms like to get big too, and I am not happy with my face weight, I prob am 150-165, and I blame it on being a mom, as I have always weighed less than 130lbs, I had an amazing diet after my first girl was born and went down to 120lbs, I had lots of muscle, and all the fat was gone off my face and arms and tummy, I looked how I used to look before motherhood.. kept it up for 3 years, then pregnant again, and just have not concentrated on myself at all.

I am currently at my heaviest (i have ALWAYS been super skinny ..until college hit) I go into phases..i'll want to be thin and lose weight but I go about it wrong. I over-do it and excercise like a crazy person. then i end up getting sore and burnt out. I went from wanting to lose 10 pounds, to gaining 20! All because I hate working out and I have no motivation to work out because I think it's painful. REALLY painful. I want to start over and begin a NEW healthier LIFESTYLE....not diet.

32 yr old female who loves food. my significant other is a chef and I love creating (and eating) great food myself. I am looking looking to lose about 40 lbs. I am very petite so all the extra weight shows. I had gained the weight when I moved across the country from MN to CT. It has just been difficult to get back into a workout regimen. Would love to get some support and motivation! :)

I am a 30 yr old, mother of 2, military wife who is self employed with at at-home job. My husband just came back from Iraq and instead of loosing those lbs while he was gone, I gained more...believe that?! I have been inactive physically for the last 5 yrs, since my son was born. Since my husband got back I have set new fitness goals and slowly but surely am achieving them. I don't look my weight and surprise all when they know my lbs, but now its time to stop hiding it and start making it actually disappear.

I am a self employed personal chef. I work hard, and tend to be sort of lazy beyond that. I belong to a gym in town, but my attendance is sporadic. I struggle with emotional eating and some hefty self esteem issues related to that behavior.

I'm a 23-year-old Canadian medical student. As you can imagine, the importance of eating well, exercising, and maintaining an appropriate BMI and waist circumferance are things constantly reiterated to us. My own health, as well as the desire to be a role-model for my patients, motivates me to continue battling my for my weight and health.
In my late teens, I lost 40lbs thanks to diet and exercise, and have kept it off. Nevertheless, I'm still overweight and, particularly with the demanding workload of med school, struggle with finding time to exercise and cook.

I'm 62 and want to be healthy and happy in my old age. It's a struggle for me to focus on health and weight loss but I'm going to give it another try. I'd love to share support with anyone who has a low metabolism or is close to my age. I'm semi retired and finishing a graduate program

Hey everybody! I have been trying to lose weight for awhile. I'm 30 years old and I have been overweight all my life. I have finally figured out that it's because of all my childhood issues. I think that I've worked those issues out, but I think that they reoccur due to this weight...abandonment, thinking that I'm not good enough...those sorts of things. I want those thoughts to be in the past and they won't go away by keeping this weight. I'm ready to move on with my life, but I just lack the motivation that it takes. How ironic, right? I'm a people person, so I believe that if I had a buddy or buddies in this thing that I would succeed. Hopefully you guys can help me out with that and in turn I will do the same!

i am 31 years old. I have been married for 5 years and have an 18 month old son. I work full time and really like to sleep (one of the reasons i need help getting motivated to workout!!!)

I have lost to date 46 pounds and have really improved my fitness level. I still struggle daily with some cravings and LOVE Chocolate way too much. Carbs are my enemies so I try to keep them to a min and eat only whole grain. I am a wife and mother and work two jobs. In the last month I put back on about 7 pounds and I feel horrible. I am trying to get back down again to my ideal weight.

I have maintained the same weight for the last 3 years and am approaching my mid 30's. I realize it isn't healthy to go on like this and want to lose but need the will power.

I am mom of 2 boys. I have been married for 14 years now- my husband rocks! I am a Bible believing kind of girl! I love Jesus more then anything! I know his strength and love will help me achieve my goals. I love to have fun doing anything and hang out with my friends.

I started losing weight in September, 2008 at 190 pounds. After many stops and starts (especially around the holidays), I recently got down to 158 pounds. However, in the past two and a half weeks, I have been completely ignoring my diet and exercise goals and have gained back about 5 pounds as a result. (The scale is currently at 163.5 pounds.) Thus, it is time to refocus and start again!

I am 19 years old, and need to lose some flab! I'm not overweight, however for my frame i should be a UK size 8/10..instead its a 14. I live in baggy clothes, and would love to be confident enough to throw on a fitted top and jeans and know i look good! sadly i'm not a girl who can fill her face and it would never show. I want to lose the flab!
I have never bought or worn a bikini in public.

I have struggled with body image a lot over the past few years. Last year I made a serious resolution to lose weight and the main product was diary entries filled with self-loathing. I gave up on my body, stopped exercising regularly, and ate basically whatever I felt like. So I gained some weight. I don't hate my body now, but I realize I would be healthier and more fit if I was thinner.

I'm a full time college student with a part time job. I'm 20 years old, 6' and currently 150lbs. During the beginning of the summer I was satisfied with my fluctuating 135-140lb self. I want that back.
I'm also a vegetarian, however I eat fish and seafood. No red meat, or poultry.

I'm a college senior studying in biomedical Engineering. I was previously very active in high school, playing three varsity sports and ate whatever I liked. After entering college I became sedimentary and have a hard time motivating myself to go to the gym (since I am so used to training for team sports and competition). I gained 15 pounds freshman year and have been struggling to lose it ever since. I eat healthy now but I never seem to lose weight and then I get subsequently discouraged and give up.

I was always active in high school, but once college rolled around it was more beer and less running. I slowly started to gain weight which is now 60 pounds later. I'm tired of it and it's time for a change.

I am 32 year old Indian working woman. I had a daughter in July 2007 and have not been able to lose the pregnancy pounds!
I am a regular in gymn and try to workout 4-5 times a week although I have not been very consistent in 2007/ 2008 due to the demands of a newborn baby! I am trying to stay on track in 2009. I do spinning class 2-3 days/ week and the other 2 days I do 30 mins of aerobics (Treadmill, cross training etc) plus 30 minutes of strength training.

2009 began with an event that required me to push my daughters Exterra in an effort to push start it. I thought I was going to have a heart attack! My chest seized up and I couldn't get my breath back. I had never been so out of shape! A few days later I had a dr's appt and weighed in at 188 pounds, quite a lot considering I am only 5'2". I was diagnosed with FM the month prior and didn't want weight gain to be a part of my FM journey. I work out everyday and try to eat healthy as much as I can. I take in approx 1500 calories daily and 3 liters of water. Today I am 10 weeks into my lifestyle changes and weighed in this morning at 161.2. I work full time as a multi-unit supervisor for a full service restaurant franchisee, have three children ages 28 to 20 and two wonderful grandchildren that I enjoy THOROUGHLY.

37 yrs old, married mom of a preschooler. No support system- just me to rely on. My husband is obese and does not care about his health -he smokes too. It's really hard to stay with someone like that but I know I need to help myself despite everything going on around me and I need to be accountable for my own health and well being. I want more than anything to take care of myself to feel better and to have more energy. I also want to set a good example for my 3 yr old daughter.

I'm a proud mom & wife of a wonderful husband and beautiful 5 yr old daughter. I work full time and have a 3 hour a day commute. Between family, work & commuting i don't have much time to work out.
However, I am committed to making time to work out and that's early in the morning. I really struggle with getting out of bed to work out.

I'm 18 and I'm someone who knows how to be healthy and exercise and eat right but have lost all resolve. Without ever even looking at a scale I turned around my couch potato and junk food ways and was fit and thin.
After surgery on a torn ligament in my ankle I had a bit of a set back but eventually got back on track. It was last yearl all I had accomplished fell apart. I contracted lyme disease and was basically a human vegetable for months. After feeling like crud for so long with no help from doctors I began eating super healthy doing a liver cleanse and going on the fat flush diet. With that and some help from a holistic doctor I was feeling great again able to start getting back in shape.
Then I took a month long trip to Norway and all food conscientiousness was abandoned. With bread as the staple of the Norwegian diet and some of the best milk-chocolate I have ever tasted ( and mind you I thought I was a died in the wool dark chocolate fan) it was no wonder.
Upon arriving home I promised myself a return to good eating but of course after my cousin's graduation party from Chef school.
Ever since then it's been about three days eating good, too many days binging on sweets. I really need to get back on track because the lbs just keep piling on and even my good habit of doing an hour of yoga a day has disappeared.

I am a 27 year old female in RI. I have about 50 lbs to lose and I have been doing much better lately at leading a healthy lifestyle. I have a huge sweet tooth plus I eat when I am stressed or unhappy, with causes me to gain weight, which causes me to be stressed and unhappy... So I am basically trying to break the cycle! I have finally begun to enjoy exercise, however, so in that respoect I feel extremely successful!

Hi, my name is Teresa. I am a 29 year old medical student who loves life! However, I feel that I haven't put 100% into weight loss like I have with my education. I lost 35 lbs two summers ago, doing the buddy system of motivation, and got to the healthiest weight I've ever been at, but ironically gained it all back (and then some) when I started med school. How can I bring a patient to health when I'm not healthy for myself? Help me keep on track!
MY MOTTO: Nothing tastes as good as thin feels!

Hello there, I am 52 years old as of December, and weigh 269 lbs. I have struggled with my weight since puberty, and have yo-yoed through adulthood. Had a failed gastric bypass in 1991 which has resulted in a disrupted metabolism. As you can see in my before image, I seriously broke my femur in a fall, Jan 20, 08 and I am only becomming more mobile now. I have a great job, 2 adult children that are doing well, a husband that has more patience than anyone I know, and two cats that give unconditional love. I have a passion to paint large expressive landscapes, and take photos, especially of urban scenes and back alleys.

I'm 42 and I have yo-yoed in the last several years from a low of 130 to my present (all-time) high of 170. I want to stop the ups.
