Team Name: Tricking Our Treats
Members: 9
Location: Inspired, NY 10163

Goals:

Profile: This is for anyone looking for inspiration and willing to offer it to others. We are committed to "tricking our treats" by rewriting what we eat during the holiday season. Launching on Halloween 2009 and ending on New Years Day 2010, we are committed to three things. 1. Writing down what we do every day. (Time away from the computer just means you are writing on paper) 2. Reading other team members entries and posting a minimum of one note of encouragement once a week. 3. In your profile or initial note, please share what will help you (and not help you) from other team members. Help us help you! The rules of your health are yours to write, we are here for the moral support. Thanks for joining on our team.

Hello. My name is Jennifer. I am 34 and at the beginning of a new season of my life. I moved to New York City in June 2009 after leaving my job in Seattle. It's time for a lot of different types of change for me. My health and confidence is largely shaped by my relationship with my body. I want to live in a healthy, sexy body and make choices in my life that grow from that confidence.

I currently weigh 131 pounds and am 5'3". I'm 36 years old, and my goal weight is 120. I'm thrilled I found this group and look forward to being an active and encouraging member. 5 years ago I weighed 141. Through diet and exercise, I lost 9 pounds. 2 years later I lost another 5 pounds. I then gained 9 pounds, lost 10 pounds on Peer Trainer a year ago, and gained 5 pounds in the last year. I know I can reach my goal if I stick with it!

My name is Abby. I'm 34 years old. I need to begin a new relationship with my body after some major losses and serious illness. Before I got sick (March 2008), I was as healthy as I have ever been. When illness struck, I wasn't allowed to eat for close to 2 months (total). I lost a lot of weight and muscle mass. My colon was removed and I had some major dietary restrictions and psychological issues with food due to living with a colostomy for 8 months. I no longer have the colostomy, but after three abdominal surgeries and finally being comfortable with food, regaining weight, and just wanting to enjoy food again - I've GOT to find some balance.

Life first, and food second. Have to remember to keep them in that order!

i'm an actress living in nyc. i would love to have the support of everyone in my community. i often think if i'm had a rough day, i DESERVE ice cream. now isn't that silly logic?!? when i want to have a rock hard amazing warrior body...haha. so i'm working on the emotional eating thing.

I'm 38, mother of two, realizing that "I just had a baby" doesn't really work as an excuse any more, as my youngest is 16 months old. However, I commute 3 1/2 to 4 hours a day, and the few waking hours I am home are pretty much devoted to caring for children, and generally relaxing before bed. So the challenge for me is to find time and ways to exercise that don't compromise other 'must-dos' of my life right now.

I am a 27 year old female in RI. I have about 50 lbs to lose and I have been doing much better lately at leading a healthy lifestyle. I have a huge sweet tooth plus I eat when I am stressed or unhappy, with causes me to gain weight, which causes me to be stressed and unhappy... So I am basically trying to break the cycle! I have finally begun to enjoy exercise, however, so in that respoect I feel extremely successful!

I'm already 30, & it's frightening. I already miss my 20's, but they say the best is yet to come.

Before coming to PEERTrainer, I was a beginner runner, who read that running is the most efficient way to burn fat. I ran on the treadmill for a while @ the gym, but it got too boring. I considered success as running consecutively 20 minutes, but I needed a change. I took my efforts on the road and built up the courage to run a 10K. Through trial and error, persistence and dedication, I ran regularly and just kept at it.

A friend of mine introduced me to this wonderful site August 2007, and I signed up a few days later. After finding groups that were geared towards running and marathons, I've blossomed into what I've really dreamed about: a multi-marathon finisher. Through great friendships I've made within my groups and teams through the years, I've gained much inspiration and am humbled at what I've accomplished thus far.

I've completed my first half marathon in 2007 on Maui and my first full marathon in Honolulu, with a result I wish to forget. With a renew optimism, I began to focus on becoming a full blown endurance athlete and train accordingly. I also had to eat like an endurance athlete, and not just another "dieter". In 2008, I have successfully completed 2 full marathons and 2 half marathons.

2009 was a banner year for me. With such unorthodox enthusiasm for marathons, I have gain membership into the exclusive club called the Marathon Maniacs. I'm sure you'll see any of us in races sporting our signature yellow singlets. Entry into the Marathon Maniacs is a great goal I have accomplished so far. In 2009, I have successfully completed 7 marathons, with special emphasis on Kauai and Maui, which were done 2 weeks apart.

And Chicago and Kansas City - done 6 days apart!!! I survived and looking forward to a fresh crop of marathons in the new year!

I owe PEERTrainer and it's AMAZING members everything for what they have inspired me to do.

Thank you. =)
