Other Info: I am a 58 year old mother of eleven and grandmother of nine. I am tired of taking off and putting back on the same 10 pounds over and over again. Right now I am 127 pounds. This summer I went on many road trips, and I kept myself awake by eating lots of chocolate. I just had my blood sugar tested and it is higher than it should be.

I am 38 years old with 2 kids, a dog and a boyfriend/partner of almost 10 yrs. I have a full time job and also attend college full time working on completing my bachelors degree.


I go to the gym very regularly, but I have a crazy weakness for sugar and carbs. When I try to cut out sugar, I find myself feeling really hungry all the time so I overeat and end up putting on weight anyway. It's so frustrating going to the gym frequently and yet feeling like there are no results!


I am a 32 year-old woman, single with no kids. 5'1" I spent many years weighing 137-143 pounds and in college spent a while around 150. 3 years ago in August 2008 I weighed 143. I slowly and steadily got down to my current weight 126 by June 2009. By December 2009 I was up to 134. By July 2010 I was back down to 126. Then by November 2010 I was down to 117. I don't think that was my ideal weight because I started skipping periods and it didn't regulate until after I was back up to around 122. Also, even by then my body % was only 14%. I know I am within my ideal healthy range but I would feel better at 121. I know that being so close to my ideal weight, I am going to have to focus!


I am 46 a RN and have moved with my husband to Mexico for 3 years. He has been transferred with his job. I quit my job at the hospital last year and moved to Guadalajara,Mexico. I had lost 30 lbs right before the move and have gained it all back plus some..I am looking for new friends and words of encouragement..





My name is Kelly Ann. I am a straight A full-time student at Trinity University, and a part-time clerk for the Department of Justice. I have been changing my lifestyle, and have kicked quite a few bad habits: - I no longer smoke - no longer eat high-carb salty/sugary foods -if I am hungry before bed, then I will only eat fruit/vegetables -I no longer drink soda (very rarely drink juice I've been working out, and learning to love my body and be happy as long as I'm healthy!

Hi, I'm glad that I found this website. I've read a lot of nice stories and it makes me even more motivated to reach my goal. First of all, I'm a 22 year old female and I'm a tennis professional/instructor. I've always been an active individual. I've always been extermemly fit and I've competed in tennis at a professional & collegiate level. After I I stopped competing at that high level and stopped doing my daily very intense workouts, I kept my normal diet. My diet was not bad, but I was consuming a lot of calories that I did not burn off. After half a year of not paying attention to my diet and exercise I gained 30lbs. It took a lot of discipline to competely alter my eating habits and incorporate some exercise into my schedule. I was successful in dropping all the weight within 3 months and kept it off until I got into a car accident. After I was in a car accident in April 2010, I've had the hardest time watching what I eat and I haven't been able to exercise much because of the pain. I went through 4 months of very limited physical therapy and treaments before I had a series of 3 steroid epidurals injected into my spine. I've also been taking pain managment medication occasionally when it is unbearable. I'm against taking these medications that become addictive and bring you down a slippery slope. I only take them when I absolutely cannot sleep, but I deal with the pain daily. With this being said, I've been down a lot about my self-image, not being able to exercise, and function normally. All of these negative thoughts, medications, and injuries have lead to my significant weight gain. It's been over 8 months since my accdident and I need to stop feeling down in the dumps about my situation. I have to grab the reigns on this and get back in shape. I may not be able to do that much exercise until I have my surgery, but I am going to control my diet.


Single mom (recently widowed) with 4 kids (ages 3,5,10,22). Gained weight in last year. I recentl joined a boot camp at the Y, started doing Yoga occaisionally, and I run. Unconcious eating due to stress and old coping has lead to weight gain. Joining this group is part of my well being plan to put my health as a priority in my life again. :-)

I Gained Weight due to Medical Problems in the Past 15 Years. More Recently, I Injured My Back resulting in Surgery & a Leg Brace. In the Past Couple Months I put on 5 #s. Prior to that I had Kept off about 20 #s for at Least 5 Years. I Would Like to Lose about 40 #s as of Today. At the Age of Menopause.





I am a stay at home Mom of 11 children. 5 are still at home. I am also currently a relief society president, and am in the process of fixing up our home (a lot of work). So that if we should decide to sell, it is ready to go. I am really busy, but I feel I need to make this program a priority.


Closing in on 50 and very out of shape. Used to enjoy skiing, basketball, softball and more. Now running is too much on my joints.

hi, I'm a 5' 3", 23yr old international undergrad in an aussie uni.

16.02.08: freshman 15 sneaked up on me last yr (nobody warned me!) and i was heaviest at 57.5 kg (127). I'm currently at 53kg (117) by going to the gym and portion control.

I hope to reach my goal of 51.5kg (114 lb) by june, when i turn 21 and eventually, 49.5 (109lb).

23.3.09 short-term goal of 51.5kg (115lb) reached! finally lost the weight (6-7kg/13 lb) i gained last year. Onwards i go.

27.4.09 back at 54.1 yesterday. am 53.1 today thou. gained some weight on the trip back home. I must maintain lifestyle of eating only when hungry and not overindulge - i'll enjoy the food better that way:really tasting and not being hungry. i really shld try to exercise in singapore.

12.9.09 put on weight in july back home, was too busy moving house till around now. going 2h gym session 3-4x/wk. gonna start monitoring my diet. attempting the 12k City-Bay run next sunday!

2.10.09 ah, it's like a cycle. i'm back to around ~56kg. Combination of putting on weight back home, not getting enough exercise, and then a food trip in melbourne. Gotta try get eating moderately and exercising into a LIFESTYLE so the wieght loss is maintained. Ok, exercise, eat moderate and only when hungry.

18.02.10 OMG finally broke thru 53 kg. 52.5kg today. important to maintain it and not yoyo. history will not dictict the future! Eat properly, drink lots of water, start jogging, use the exercise ball.

30.3.10 back to the gym. somehow at 54.1 kg now. but i'm alright with that. trying to cook and eat better. and get back to april 09's shape! i looked so good then, didnt even realise! everything's relative i guess.

28.4.10 started on 5-factor fitness. nice mix of cardio and strength training. Just gonna do my best and eat better (more veggie and protein..) and see where that leads me. reminder to self: set-pt in sg in low. 53/54 kg is not your set point. in fact, 53 kg used to be the high range of ur "normal" weight.

7.3.11 bootcamp 3/week, 6am-715am help me get down to around 52kg. really like how i am now. bootcamp's over n i'm trying to maintain. random pushups n squarts n ab exercise plus running 3-4/week (20-30min) and i'm not 51.7kg! first time below 52kg in a long time.

I am 56 years old. I previously weighed 201 lbs in 2008. I have been as low as 151 lbs. I am now 159.5 lbs. I want to put a stop to the wt. gain.


I like to lurk around the site and pick up encouragement through what I read. I know it seems very passive, especially for a place like Peertrainer, but it's what I feel the most comfortable with. :)


I am married with 2 married children. My daughter has 2 little girls (3 and 1). My son has 2 little boys (2 and 3 months). I want to be the grandma that gets down and dirty with the little ones. So far so good, but I am struggling lately.

I had gastric bypass surgery on 2/17/09. My starting weight was 342 pounds. Currently I am at 179.2 pounds. I would like to get down to 165 pounds by eating a healthy and balanced diet and excercise. Generally very fit; used to run marathons. Have done 8 but now coasting.


Born and raised in California, I moved from Santa Barbara to Minneapolis is the dead of winter. I have always struggled with my weight, but living on the beach was great motivation to run outside on a daily basis. I was also working in a restaurant (and moving constantly!) and biking everywhere for college. Right after college, I started working, and gained an initial 12 pounds. I worked with a personal trainer 2 days a week, and worked out at the gym 2-3 additional days, but couldn't seem to take the weight back off. Then I moved to Minnesota. In the middle of winter. With my junk-food loving boyfriend. I then gained 25-30 additional pounds! I began working a full 40-60 hour week, at a fairly stressful job. I decided in April that this was unacceptable, and I needed to change. I started Seattle Sutton, which delivers pre-made natural meals twice a week. Not only was it easier with my schedule, but I actually started losing weight! I lost 10 pounds in a month. Then came summer, which, with all the traveling and activities, made it hard to stay on the diet. I decided to try and watch my calories myself. I have been able to lose 8 pounds doing that, but plan on rejoining seattle sutton in November. In total, I have been able to keep off the 18 pounds... but I'm so close to 20, that it's killing me!


I'm 5'2". I am 'disabled' after my 2003 car accident. Constant pain in lower back, and currently dealing with plantar fascitis in my left arch/heel. Thus, exercise (even walking) is very painful for me.

I tried WW for the first time in the summer of 2006 after relocating and starting a new job. I went from 152 lb to 124 lb within 4 months, so I know that way of eating worked for me. But in 2007/2008, the loss of both grandmothers, a grandfather and a great uncle over a matter of 8 months was quite difficult. I didn't eat bad or too much, I just slowly stopped monitoring my intake, and didn't really care. Exercise came to a screeching halt. In the fall of 2009, I took up running because I knew I needed to get things back on track...and I fell in love with it. I ran my first official 5k event in January 2010. Due to a set-back with an episode of acute nerve pain, I have had a handful of months of inactivity. Doing better since physical therapy and ready to get back on track. Once again I need to get my diet aligned and get back to running!!

Weight history--life-long struggles--first in my mind, then in reality. In my teens, I thought I was fat at 135. I wasn't. I first really gained weight in college, up to about 165, which is where I hung during my 20s. Then in my 30s, I had a very stressful job and really packed on the pounds. My highest weight was 242 in 1998. In 1999, I got seriously ill and lost 95 pounds due to illness. After I recovered, weight slowly crept on. I've been back over 200 for most of the decade, pretty much cycling up and down between 212 and 202. The highest weight I've recorded in the past decade was 223 and the lowest 197. When I hit 223 in 2008, I joined Weight Watchers and shed 10 pounds. Then in 2010, after another weight spike, I started following ETL and lost another 10, and I hung out at about 202 with periodic spikes up to 210 or so that I usually reverse in fairly short order. But breaking down below 200 was a real challenge from about age 36 on. In August 2014, I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis and advised to go gluten-free. I did, and lost 8 pounds in one week and have been hanging out a few pounds under 200 ever since. Still a lot to lose, but this is the longest period in a decade that I've been consistently under 200, so that feels good.





I am 39, mother of two great kids, 9 and 7 years old, and finally got my act together about 4 years ago to take off the "baby" weight (my youngest was 3 at the time) and lost 40 pounds. However, as time passed the weight started creeping back on and I gained 20 of it back. I worked very hard this year at eating right and exercising and re-lost 15 pounds, but the last 5 just don't want to budge, probably thanks in part to my love of BEER.

So since I never had a habit of doing any real activities or working out, it's very hard for me to work this into my lifestyle. BUT I AM DETERMINED to do it!
