A man who lost 50 pounds in a month.

Ok, so I was watching some type of reality show last night about make-overs, and this man actually had to lose 50 pounds in a month. And he did!

I thought this was physically impossible, but I guess not. The doctor who supervised his weight-loss actually said that weight-loss has nothing to do this calories or carbs, etc., it's just all about the body chemistry and what you eat. I want to know about this body chemistry stuff!

Does anyone have any information about this or know how it may have happened?

If you eat a diet that is basically all plant-based, and low in fats (even the "good" ones) it is possible to lose a lot of weight relatively quickly. A good book on this subject is "Eat to Live" by Joel Fuhrman, which discusses how different foods affect your weight as well as your health.

yeah, i have also turned to 'reality" tv to inform myself about the latest, safest approaches to long-term weight loss. everyone knows that what you see on those type of shows is in fact real.

for crying out loud!

give me a doctor to supervise my health, a trainer to kick my ass every day, a chef to prepare all my food, and a nutritionist/scientist to measure my BMI and feed me according to my lean muscle mass and I'll lose weight fast.
