Before:
summer 2009
After:
on my wedding day, Sept 11th 2010

My Goal:
UPDATE 06/21/2015: gained all the weight back with all of it's health problems. Want to get back to wedding weight (70 kg) and fitness until end of 2015. Still afraid to weigh myself. Physical not able to do a lot of workout yet. Will take baby steps at the beginning & try not to beat myself up.

*** Update 05/25/2012: I will go to the root of my Hashimoto's sickness with the help of a TCM counselor and a macrobiotic eating plan for approx. 3-4 months - wish me luck!! ***

* * * Update 01/19/11: to crack the last pounds, I'll break them down in reachable goals:
- end of Feb: 69kg
- end of Mar: 68kg
- end of Apr: 67kg
- end of May: 66kg
- end of Jun: 65kg

* * * Update 09/30/10: now after my wedding is over, I need some new goals:
> to lose 3kg until End of October 2010, so that I'm back on 70kg
> after that: try to reach 65kg
* * *
> to lose 20 kg (44 lb) until my marriage on Sept 11th 2010
> to become more sporty and fit
> to get a nice shaped, firm and strong body
> better cope with my thyroid disease and avoid further sickness

the real motivation behind:
I want to learn to love myself and to take good care of my body and soul. Hand in hand goes a healthy body awareness and a good physical well-being. I want to be fit and strong, now and in the future. But body and soul go togehter that's what I learned now deeply! So I will care for both equally.

I just sharpened my goal a bit. I think it's easier for me to stay on track if I build little mini-goals:
- end of Nov 09: 83kg - DONE (even 82 kg!!)
- end of Dec 09: 81kg - DONE!!!
- end of Jan 10: 79kg - only made 80kg :-(
- end of Feb 10: 77kg - made it to 79kg
- end of Mar 10: 75kg - half of my overall goal will be done! - made it to 76kg
- end of Apr 10: 73kg - made it to 72kg!!! :-)) Only 7 more kg to go!
- end of May 10: 71kg - DONE
- end of June: 69kg - made it to 70 kg!
- end of July: 67kg - made it to 69 kg!
- end of August: 65kg => goal will be reached!!!
=> Sept 11th 2010: MARRIAGE!!!

About me:
30 years old German girl / married / no kids so far / suffer from autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto disease) since about 15 years / only know it since 4 years / starting weight: 85 kg (187 lb), lowest weight (end of August 2010): 70kg, current weight: 73kg, goal weight: 65 kg (143 lb)

Diets I like:
*** Update 05/25/2012: learning to live the macrobiotic lifestyle at the moment :) *** * * * Update 09/30/10: in the meantime I got used to doing without alcohol, and for some months I followed ETL, but around my wedding I slacked off a bit and now have a hard time returing to the ETL way of eating * * * I like to eat a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables. After a few days it's not so hard for me to do without sugar and white flour. What's really hard for me is to do without or with little cheese and very little wine. Update July 14th 2010: in the meantime I'm used to doing without alcohol and diary, but what's still hard for me is to completely avoid binges.

Workout of choice:
*** Update 05/25/2012: had a long workout break due to sickness - will get back to it slowly while adopting the macrobiotic way of life.... *** * * * Update 07/14/10: in the meantime I found a good workout routine (muscle workout, power dumbell, spinning class & daily mini workouts at home in the morning). The "only" thing I need to do now is stay on track. ;-) * * * It's hard for me to excercise regulary. Sometimes I don't feel so good because of my hormone / thyroid trouble, sometimes that's just an excuse. ;-)

My plan:
*** Update 05/25/2012: try and heal my sickness as much as possible & balance my body & soul with the macrobiotic lifestyle *** * * * Update 09/30/10: return to ETL way of eating & get back to workout routine to be on 70kg until end of October * * * daily logging, follow the ETL 6 weeks plan, begin with workout / longterm: to lose 20 kg (44 lb) until my marriage on Sept 11th 2010

I need the most help with:
*** Update 05/25/2012: sticking to the macrobiotic lifestyle would be hard, especially in the beginning - I want to see it as a chance to get closer to my body, soul, higher being and not as a threat or burden *** Sometimes I developed slight tendencies of binge eating in my behavior. My biggest challenge is to listen to myself and cope with situations without using food as compensation. Second biggest challenge is to keep it up and not let diet and workout go down the drain after some weeks again.
