How do you feel about the workout programs you see on infomercials?

Do you think it is a good idea?
Do you think they really work or are most of them just fad workouts?

last night i couldn't sleep and I saw two infomercials for workouts. The first work was Billy Blanks, it was called 24/7 and it looked really good, and with all the extra "free gifts" plus i used to do a little tae bo, and it was kinda fun. Then there was another called insanity, it's a 60 day intensive program, the challenge is to do the workouts for 60 days and take a before and after picture and if you see results they send you a t shirt that says "insanity" on the front and "i earned it on the back". the before and after pics really did show amazing results, and they seemed like normal people who just stuck to it, and it came with a calendar and a meal plan book...i was almost suckered into buying it, only 3 easy payments of $39.95...until i realized thats $120.00 ! and i had a friend who tried PX90, which is something similar to this, but he couldn't stick with it, he said it was just too hard. i also don't think it's healthy or safe to go from not working out to start working out 6 times a week for 45 mins.

do you know anyone personally who has done or is doing insanity?

do you think it is a healthy and safe to start working out so hard and lose weight so quickly?
