he has issues with my weight

so I just started seeing this guy.

a couple of days after our first date while we were talking on the phone, he said "ok so it's time that we talk about the obvious elephant in the room: what do you plan on doing about your weight?"

I was obviously shocked, no guy who has ever expressed interest in me has ever said that to me. I'm thick. I want to be healthier but I like my curves.

what he said was so hurtful and triggered some serious body issues that I didn't know I even had.

so I chewed him out for being so disrespectful, and that was that.

a couple of days later, he called and apologized and said that he hadn't thought before he spoke.

a couple of days after that, we hung out again. he apologized again, and I told him that if he ever disrespected me like that we were done.

so far he's been good...but I can't get over the fact that he was so rude.

am I right to be appalled? should I forgive him and still see him?

or in the spirit of living a healthier life should I stop seeing him because I deserve better?
