Feel Sick After Workout ???
I have had this on off (and yes it is when I push myself extra hard at the gym). I feel nauseous after working out. Today was extra weird because I had a banana after exercising, and only started to feel sick about an hr after the gym.
Any thoughts? Am I maybe not drinking enough water?

I say eat less, eat cleaner, stay hydrated the day before & back off on caffeine

It is related to your body detoxing itself, not sure if it's specifically lactic acid. It usually happens when you first start getting fit and work out like a maniac (like you see on The Biggest Loser in the first week or two), but I've seen fit bootcamp people heaving into the bushes mid-workout too. I have no idea if it's particularly bad for you, but as someone who doesn't enjoy throwing up, I don't push myself that far.

This happens to me fairly frequently as well and can happen one of two ways...either short intense work or longer, endurance work. I've discovered that I hit my vomit point pretty quickly if I am sustaining 90%+ max heart rate. However, I also run marathons and half marathons (which are not at 90%+ HR) and find that if I do not get some kind of simple carb into my mouth immediately upon finishing, I will be sick within the next hour or two. What I have gathered from my past coaches and reading, is that it is best to eat something, anything, after an intense workout. I often feel nauseaus to begin with, but have found that a small yogurt smoothie (think Stonyfield Farms) usually settles my stomach and prevents any future icky feelings.
Goodluck!
