Are the last 5-10 lbs really worth losing?

I lost 40 lbs 10 years ago and have mostly maintained it, but I yo-yo a bit with the last 5-10.

I am 8 lbs away from my ‘skinny’ weight: the weight in which I am officially small (size 4-6), instead of medium (size 8-10), but not even close to too skinny. I love how I look at that weight, but I find it very difficult to maintain. I eat generally healthy, and I run, walk, or bike 30 min-hour 5 days a week. Obviously, when I do more and eat less, I lose, but then I can’t maintain the amount of exercise, and I gain it back.

My current weight is still healthy and very easily maintained with my life style, but there is definitely some less than attractive pudge involved that I am self conscious of.

So, for those of you who have put all of your energies and extra time into losing the last 5-10 lbs, have you been able to maintain and is it worth it?
