Terms of Service
Last updated: May 24, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using PEERtrainer ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you may not use the Platform.
We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes we will notify you via email or a prominent notice on the Platform. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
2. Account Registration
To participate in experiments and access certain features, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. By registering, you confirm that you meet this age requirement.
3. Your Content and License Grant
You retain ownership of content you submit to the Platform, including experiment check-ins, weekly updates, reflections, survey responses, community posts, comments, and profile information.
By submitting content, you grant PEERtrainer, Inc. a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, sublicensable license to:
- Host, store, display, and deliver your content as part of the Platform
- Aggregate, anonymize, and analyze your data to generate experiment results, cohort insights, and outcome reports
- Publish aggregated and anonymized experiment results, case studies, outcome summaries, and research write-ups on the Platform and through external channels (partner reports, blog posts, academic summaries, marketing material)
- Excerpt or summarize public content (posts, community discussions, experiment descriptions) in promotional or editorial contexts
Individually identifiable publication — using your name, handle, avatar, or specific outcomes in a way that identifies you — will only occur: (a) for content you have already made public on the Platform (public profile, public post, public experiment), or (b) with your explicit opt-in consent as described in Section 4.
4. Featured Member Stories
If your profile visibility is set to public, or if you explicitly opt in through your Privacy settings, PEERtrainer may feature your handle, first name, avatar, and self-reported outcomes in case studies, success stories, promotional material, or partner content.
You may withdraw consent at any time by setting your profile to private or contacting us at support@peertrainer.com. Withdrawal of consent is prospective; previously published material may remain in archival or syndicated form where removal is not reasonably practicable.
5. Honest Data and No Fabrication
The integrity of PEERtrainer's results depends on honest self-reporting. You agree not to:
- Submit false, fabricated, exaggerated, or coordinated check-in data or survey responses
- Manipulate experiment results through duplicate accounts or coordinated activity
- Misrepresent your outcomes, demographics, or experiment adherence
We may remove data we reasonably believe is fabricated and may suspend or terminate accounts engaged in repeated or deliberate data manipulation.
6. Editorial Edits and Content Quality
To maintain quality, accuracy, clarity, and safety on the Platform, PEERtrainer may lightly copy-edit, reformat, redact personally identifiable information from, or restructure user-submitted content — including experiment descriptions, community pages, posts, articles, check-in summaries, and stories — before display or publication. We will not materially change the substance of your self-reported outcomes.
7. Platform Moderation and Admin Rights
PEERtrainer administrators may, in their reasonable discretion and in good faith:
- Edit, reformat, retitle, or update the metadata of user-created experiments, communities, threads, and posts to improve quality, discoverability, or accuracy
- Hide, archive, unpublish, or delete content that violates these Terms, poses a safety risk, or degrades the quality of the Platform
- Reassign experiment host roles, adjust experiment or community visibility, merge duplicate experiments or communities, or move content between sections
- Take action on accounts or content in response to community reports, legal requirements, or platform integrity concerns
We will exercise these rights in good faith and endeavor to notify affected members when practical.
8. AI and Machine Learning Use
Anonymized, aggregated, and de-identified data derived from Platform activity — including check-in patterns, outcome trends, and engagement signals — may be used to train, fine-tune, evaluate, and operate AI and machine learning models that power PEERtrainer features and analyses (for example, experiment recommendations, outcome predictions, and content quality tools).
We do not sell raw personal data to third-party AI model providers. Where a third-party provider processes data on our behalf, they do so under a data processing agreement and are prohibited from using the data for their own model training.
9. Health Disclaimer
PEERtrainer is not a medical service and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
The experiments, results, and content on this Platform are for informational purposes only. They represent structured citizen science — self-reported outcomes from community members, not clinical trials.
Always consult your healthcare provider before starting any new supplement, diet, exercise program, or health-related routine. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something you read on PEERtrainer.
PEERtrainer, its team, and experiment sponsors are not liable for any health outcomes resulting from participation in experiments or following content on the Platform.
10. Intellectual Property
The Platform, including its design, code, content, logos, and branding, is owned by PEERtrainer, Inc. and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Platform without written permission.
11. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Submit false, misleading, fabricated, or coordinated experiment data or survey responses
- Attempt to re-identify anonymized experiment participants or datasets
- Scrape the Platform at scale or harvest data through automated means without written permission
- Impersonate another user, PEERtrainer staff, or any other person or organization
- Harass, abuse, or threaten other users or community members
- Use the Platform for unauthorized commercial purposes or spam
- Attempt to access other users' accounts or private data
- Interfere with the Platform's operation or security
- Provide medical advice or present experiment results as medical recommendations
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at our discretion if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct harmful to the community. You may also delete your account at any time through your account settings.
Upon termination, your personal profile and identifiable data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Anonymized data that has already been aggregated into published experiment results, case studies, or cohort analyses may be retained in those publications indefinitely.
13. Limitation of Liability
PEERtrainer is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, PEERtrainer, Inc. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform.
Our total liability for any claim arising from these terms or your use of the Platform is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.
14. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of San Francisco County, California.
