I know how to lose weight. I know what I need to do to lose weight. But, my willpower and resolve need to be strengthened in order for me to succeed. It is difficult, because i have significant osteoarthritis of the knee so there is very little exercise that I can do. However, that is an excuse; not a reason. I work in a large, academic medical center as the director of pediatric palliative and end-of-life care. When a child is not doing well, I eat. When a child recovers and gets better, I eat! I love to entertain and cook things that are rich and wonderful. But, starting Aug. 20, 2014, I have become successful and am overcoming my weaknesses! Thus far (as of March 10, 2015), I have lost 88 lbs. through the KU Medical Center for Healthy Lifestyles and Weight Management. The diet I'm on is the HMR 500 calorie diet. More below!

I'm 46, need to lose at least 50kgs (almost 100 pounds). I have always been on the watch-out concerning my weight, but things got out of hand after my first pregnancy, when post partum depression hit me like a comet!! Before that I was pretty hot and curvy without serious extra weight, and I do miss all the admiration I received, but it's not why I want to lose the weight. I want to be healthy and enjoy my family and my life, I want to go outdoors and walk, run, bike, swim without gasping. I want to look my age, and not feel 60!!! The problem is I work a lot on my computer (translation services), which means I need to be motivated to exercise MORE than most people need to...Well, good luck to me and all...
