I'm 25, male, and unhappy with my physical fitness and appearance. I spend almost all of the work day at my desk and need to jumpstart my excersise and dieting. I enjoy golfing, weightlifting, mountain biking, water sports and snowboarding- although I haven't gone for a few seasons. After instruction from my doctor to take 2 months off of lifting weights due to tendonitis in my elbow, I have struggled to get back into regular gym workouts. Before this, I was addicted to working out and went to the gym 5 days a week. I was in rather good physical shape, but my lack of desire to do cardio exercises has prevented me from reaching my optimal physical fitness.

I'm 19, an amateur photographer and makeup artist, currently trying to find work while moving to Fremont.

I am a 47 year old woman, I am a secretary in the Bay Area, and from the 85 pounds I lost about 5 years ago. I maintained the loss for 3 yers and 2 years later, I have maintained a 70 pounds of that loss. I am 5' 5" and weigh about 150, and I would like to loose 15 to 20. I excercise on the treadmill 6 days a week for at least an hour. I am concerned about gaining back the weight I lost, and I hope a support group would be helpful for mutual support and accountability.

19, female, university student. I like doing group sports but I don't participate as often as I'd like to because of school and work. Working out alone is okay but I tend to lose concentration and motivation after a while because no one is watching/monitoring me. I have a lung condition (asthma) that makes it a bit harder for me to work out. I'm an avid videogamer so working out is not exactly something I do for fun.. It feels more like a chore.

35, live in San Francisco, work in Mill Valley

Animal lover. I have a horse, 3 dogs, 2 cats and a man. He's the hardest to maintain. He doesn's show love like they do and his love is conditional. Oh well, I am a free spirited loving person so I keep him too. I am a spiritual thinker, I love music and writing, so I do that too. I think it's age that has slowly added weight to me, it first started in New York state when I was 35, a car accident left me with severe back problems. I am better now but not as active as I use to be. I want to incorporate yoga in my life again. I did yoga in my early teens and in my 20's. It's good stuff. Nightbird

I am a 31 year old woman living in Oakland. I love food. I am a trained chef, love cooking and eating and developing recipes. I'm a photographer and host a life-drawing salon in Sna Francisco called Dr. Sketchy's: Barbary Coast. I write screenplays and love movies & TV. Additionally I am a full time student and an office manager for a holistic chiropractor. I have been heavy for more than half my life though I lost 60 pounds 3 years ago which I have since put back on. I suffer from depression and anxiety and I am trying to use diet to regulate both of these.

I'm 30 and used to be very active but put on 40 pounds in a relationship and subsequent break-up. Now relocated, accepted to a new university and started a fresh leg of my life I really want to get healthy not just for the appearance but also for the health factor. I need some moral support and that's why I'm here!

Terrible speller -- Apologize in advance! 33 years old Married First time Mom -- Son born 12/06 Just went back to work -- I sit most the day Tired when I get home, and guilty about leaving my baby makes little time for going to the gym Hate my fat arm, thighs that touch when I walk, summer clothes, swimming, my stomach flab, and my decreasing libido

I'm an Analyst for the County. I work long hours and am trying to prioritize my life by taking care of myself physically and spiritually. I weigh 219lbs and am 35 years old. It's time for a change. I'll be starting a higher management job in June and want to have some new habits established before I change departments.

25 year old female and lived in the Bay Area all of my life. No place I would rather be. Account manager for an oral surgeon during the day and studying at night [keeping my fingers crossed!] to become a certified financial planner. It is definitely time for a change and hopefully PT will help me reach my goals.

I had a knee operation last year due to knee injury after running 10 miles. I have difficulty getting into a good exercise plan sometimes due to pain in knee and other times, just plain laziness!

Im 21 and trying to start a new life with my boyfriend and future husband. i dont wanna be a fat bride, wife, or mother.

i'm a 37 year old female... i've gained 30 lbs in the past five years...diagnosed in the past month with low thyroid so i'm on medication...i'm a pretty loyal exerciser, just need to eat less and make better food choices.

50, female, Santa Clara

26/single/engineer currently living in the bay area. I Was recently laid off and i am currently unemployed. I love to be active and hate staying at home. I lost 40 lbs. During the winter but gained it all back after i lost my job!!!

I'm 39 and Live in San Jose, Ca. I have always struggled with keeping in good shape becasue of other priorities in life. I'm currently going through some life changes which could potentialy derail my efforts (Divorce, Career Change, ect.) About 4 years ago I lost 40 lbs and am have bounced back a bit. I've helped several friends lose significant amounts of weight and now need to take some of my own advice and get refocused. I've always enjoyed weight lifting and have made significant progress throughout the years only to have time limitations take me away from my goal of getting into peek shape. I want to make a serious effort to reach these goals by my 40th birthday in Sept. My vices are wine (a tough one now living in Northern cal.) and Pizza (an even tougher one having come from NYC). If I stay away from these it is much easier to stay on track.

About to turn 40, and realizing that this weight isn't coming off if I don't actively change some things. Happily cohabitating with my partner of 13 years, and hoping for many more, so that's my motivation.

31 years old, I work a lot of hours and I commute so it's hard for me to get the gym with regularity.

My name is Bobbie (and yes I am a female) and I am 32 years old. I live with my boyfriend in San Jose, CA. I work at a high tech company in Silicon Valley. I have been on WW for about 5 years and I love the plan. I use to weigh over 200 lbs, but I have lost quite a bit of weight since then.

My name is Corey and I'm 20 and I work at Whole Foods Market which has made me more conscious of what I put in my mouth. I work full time and I will head back to school in January. I want to be an actor and I'm tired of my body looking like a soggy pillow. I think I have the raw materials to look really good.

I'm a 3rd year student in SJSU. I'm 5'3 and currently 145lbs. I used to be 115 lbs. Around 7 months ago, I gained 30 lbs within a month or two and I'm still in the process of finding out why. So my goal here at peertrainer is to lose 30 lbs and get back to my old self.

I have always been over weight, however this is the most I have ever been. I feel my health is in jeopardy if I do not get a handle on my weight.

I want to get back into my skinny jeans and feel fit again like I did before moving out to Cali a few years ago

I'm just a college student w/ very little time on my hands to pay attention to working out and eating healthy. I want to lose some weight and get fit though, so I'm trying to balance school & health! I just want some more self confidence, and losing weight seems like a good plan!

I have never been that overweight but I have been unhealthy my entire life. I was not taught good eating habits when I was a kid, and so, even though I understand what it takes to be healthy, I have a hard time staying motivated and committing to it. I want to change my life and get healthy, really healthy. I want to feel good about myself, body and soul. I want to feel good in my skin!

Looking for support and some local workout buddies.

I am a 36 year old wife and SAHM of a 2-year old and a 10 year old. I am also, and foremost, a Christian who loves Christ Jesus and seeks to glorify Him in spirit and in body. Visit my blog at: http://pro31woman.blogspot.com

I'm 39 year old female and would like to be healthy in my forties!

I have stuggle with wieght loss since I was 9 years old. I have been as high as 230# and as low as 135#. I am 6' tall. One of the first diets I remeber trying was Dr. Atkins Low Carb Reveloution. The weight loss was dramatic, but the menue choices sucked.

37 year old mother of three. I lost a lot of weight living in SF because there you walk, walk, walk. Since I moved to Mountain View two years ago, and was reintroduced to using a car, I've put most of the weight back on.

I'm a mom to two beautiful boys and my added weight is starting to slow me down, which isn't an option with two boys. I LOVE to run but am limited to the run/walk cycle at this point until I can build up my endurance. I'd like to run a marathon this summer..ahem....I mean, I AM going to run a marathon this summer! (-:

I'm 47, married with an 8 year old son. I've been a yo-yo dieter for the past 20 years.

53 yr old female. mom of college kids. married

I moved to San Francisco from Louisiana about a year ago and since I've been here I decided to lose weight. I've lost about 65 pounds and recently i gained back about 6 of those pounds due to stress eating from dealing with a cheating boyfriend. I dumped that loser and I'm ready to get back on track :D

5'10" 290# Construction worker, which presents an incredible challenge for me. I use a lot of energy at work so when I get home, I am exhausted. I am single, low self esteem, can't sleep well, etc..

NY transplant in the SF East Bay area for over 4 years. Love the sun and am depressed in the winter without it (SAD), so it is much better out here than in the EAST. I have a MS in Nutrition and counsel others, but the head stuff is such a challenge for me.

I'm 60, always have struggled with weight but nowadays it is way harder to lose any weight at all..... Is it age, slower metabolism, or reluctance to give up one of life's great pleasures, good food?

I am an active Californian...I run, play soccer, do yoga, and hike.,..love soaking in the fresh air. Even though I'm active, I've still got an excess of 20 lbs that I'm going to shed! I work in television as a Post Producer, so lots of time sitting at a desk.

Woman in late 20's, trying to lose 35 pounds put on from getting married and less daily physical activity. Have tried everything ever diet. I've tried to just "be good" and that works only sometimes; determined THIS will be the time I can stick with it.

I weighed 145 from 20-33, I felt overweight, but wore size 10/12 and I was very active. After starting stressful job in 30s weight creeped to 155, still ok for my height 5'6" and body type, but on the high end for sure. After my first child, I quickly got back down to 155, after my second child I was able to get back to 150 and felt awesome. However, weight came back and I was 168 by the time I was pregnant with my third, and now, 11 months later, I weigh 179. I would like to first get back to 168 and then down to 155. At that point I will evaluate how I feel about myself. I have always been active, but this year I have mostly been walking places, no running or other hard cardio and I find I am the most out of shape in my life. Most noticeably, for the first time I have a belly, which I have never had (expect pregnancy and immediately post partum). I need to curb emotional eating (stress with kids, nighttime eating) as well and reduce stress (meditation and journal would help, but I struggle to do these regularly).

I am 29 years old, and have struggled with my weight since I had my first son back in 2003. I have juggled, and gone up and down, and finally hit my biggest ever at 217. I had tried EVERY weight loss plan, and diet out there, and some worked, but my health was declining. Strangely I was losing pounds, but my cholesterol was getting higher, and my energy level was lower. Fortunately for me, I got a job in a Dr.'s office, and they happend to have a weight loss clinic. I have been on the program for 5 weeks, and have lost almost 25 pounds. I feel healthy, my energy level is booming, and My choloesterol has Already improved a bit. I actually changed my position to work in the Weight Loss clinic, because I wanted to share my experiences with others, and I genuinly know how it feels to want it so bad.. not just for appearance, but for your life.

I am 53 yrs old. I had a serious accident in 2003 which precluded me from work and daily exercise. My weight shot up a 108lbs within 3 yrs to 288. I am currently at 270lbs and need to lose 85lbs in order to get my life back!

Never was active growing up. 5 years ago, started running with a charity program - changed my life. Gotten lazy on workouts with work lately so need to catch back up.
