Description:
This is my recipe. I take 1/2 cup of Black beans and 1 cup of cooked Basmati rice. I cook the beans with a little pepper, a sprinkle of crushed Chili peppers, and one clove of garlic. Pour the serving of beans over the rice in a bowl, mix and eat.
I buy Goya beans in NYC, they are the tastiest.
This is a 5 Point meal, fyi.

No, really, I don't. Goya= ghetto because it's used Latin American as opposed to organic Whole foods beans?

Not much- Goya has a touch more salt and a touch less sugar. Am I maybe guilty of idealizing and romanticizing "the other"? Edward Said is turning over in his grave, I realize that. But then again, he never had a sense of humor anyway. My motto is always WWFD (what would Foucault do)- and he was a "when in rome" kind of guy.... and me, I am a slave to my upper east side Bodega.
