Calories in a Croissant:

croissants are generally high in fat and calories. They are not a diet food. They are very good though!

The USDA calculates 272 calories in a large butter croissant. Starbucks sells a butter croissant that weighs in at 440 calories.

In recent years, an increasing number of Doctors have recommended that in order to lose weight, foods like Croissants that contain a lot of flour ought to be on the chopping block. At least for the time it takes to get your body back into balance.

The No Flour No Sugar Diet is the most extreme expression of this sentiment, however it is one that seen in many other places as well.
