Toning

I just recently joined PEERtrainer. I'm 18, 5'4" and go between 135-145lbs. I have two questions: first off, is that normal weight for someone my age/size? I lost over 70 pounds and have gained a lot more self confidence, but because I spent most of my life as an overweight kid, I'm still not all that confident.

Also, because of that weight loss, I have a lot of excess skin that needs toning, especially on my arms. Are there any good exercises that would tone my upper arms and belly, besides crunches and push ups? Thanks.

According to your height of 5' 4" your ideal healthy weight is 130 pounds. Your recommended weight range is between 116 and 145 pounds. You are just fine in your weight range. Congratulations on losing that weight! It's a wonderful feeling having achieved something so hard to do. Good job!

As far as exercise goes, there are all kinds of things you can do. There are many websites that show what to do and how to do it. I myself lost 75lbs and am now a personal trainer. What kind of equipment to you have to use? Do you go to a gym or are you working out at home?
