what do you think about spitzer and the hooker?

Do you think he should have resigned? He was doing some interesting things. Can't people have a personal life?

People can have personal lives, of course, and most of that is irrelevant to their jobs -- even politicians. But I don't think the man in charge of enforcing NY state laws can be a man who regularly (by all accounts) violated them. As attorney general, he was supposed to prosecute and bring down prostitution rings.

The most interesting part of the report is that he reportedly always asked the ladies to do something they consider "dangerous." Think he just didn't like rubbers, or was it something more serious?

I think that at 5'5" and 105 lbs., "Kristen" is really thin!! And there was another one described in the affadavit (which described business with many clients, not just him) as 5'9" and 115 lbs. I guess this means I am never going to cut it as a 4K/hr call girl, so I should keep my day job.

I'm wondering if prositution should be legal. It is in Nevada I think. It's tough to see something that is legal in one part of the country as very serious. I think the bigger issue is Spitzer himself. Seems like a real interesting and mixed up guy. Grew up rich, but hates people who take advantage of the little guy. Total hypocrite, but a hard and tireless worker who seemed to be learning from his missteps. Very complex stuff and I have a hard time totally judging him. Except as a husband and father.

I'll bet he was into erotic choking.

And I think it's DISGUSTING that his dipsh*t handlers are making his three teenage daughters join him and his stand-by-your-loser-man wife appear in photo opps as a united front. It's not like the public is going to think it's not so bad because his daughters are supportive of his hooker habit. This is seriously going to mess them up.

I can't tell you how much I'd love to see the wife calmly and expressionlessly whack him across the head - hard - with an umbrella in the middle of a press conference.

As for the tiny hookers - eh, I think those ads were probably lying by about 20 lbs. Unless he's into flatchested curveless types.

Nah, it was something "basic" according to the affadavit, which says to me he didn't like condoms.

We don't know a thing about their marriage. If I had a health issue that meant I couldn't have sex w/ my spouse, I'd want him (a) getting it from anonymous pros, who were (b) drug and disease-free. That's expensive, but better than an affair. So i could definitely imagine a situation where she okayed it.

I agree with the pp. We just love to jump on people with sex issues. WHO CARES!! Gay, straight, demiocrat, republican-- I don't care. this is mostly about politics and power, and our uptight church lady culture.

What I think is the most shocking is how he got caught. He had to set up shell companies because how do you "hide" 4k at a time. That's how the investigation started. He must have really wanted/needed it.

Wife

He is hypocritical, trash. The wife can't pretend she didn't know. If the law knew what was going on in her house all that time and she didn't, either she is extremely stupid, or in denial, or maybe has 'things' keeping her too busy to notice her husband is a whore monger.

You're all blaming the wife for his hyper-expensive hooker habit?
I always knew that "sisterhood" concept was a load of Oprah and Sex-and-the-City inspired crap, but to actually go around looking for excuses for this man is just depressing. It makes me embarrassed to include myself in your half of the species.

You know, I'm looking down the barrel of this particular gun (illness) in my life right now. I'm not attacking her -- I'm just saying we don't know. It's not such a "hypothetical" to me as it might be.

NO, no, no. Not blaming the wife at all. He broke the law. It was him not her totally get that. I am saying for her to be standing there all cry faced like that was the first she knew she married a complete and total cad is ridiculous.
Maybe she drove him too it, maybe not. I tend to think not. He is a pig, she is the pen keeper.

There's a difference between staying with an ass for the sake of your kids and standing next to him showing public support in this kind of almighty-stupid crisis. I don't like the message it sends to everyone from his daughters ("stay with your husband no matter how awful he is") to the men in this country ("women forgive pretty much anything, so do what you want").
