Eat For Health by Joel Fuhrman

this is an article that contains an overview of Joel's new 2 book set. It also contains an introduction to the MANDI points system, which is a way of identifying a specific target of "nutrient rich" foods to eat each day.

Couple key points:

1) You can download the first chapter of the book for free via a link on the page. Joel and his team gave us the chapter to put on the site

2) I am being given the following statistic from his team : " there is a new peer reviewed study showing EFH 53lbs average weight loss after 2 years. (Weight Watchers promotes 4% or 6lbs for a 150 lb person) 34% user compliance after two-years. We have one user who has now surpassed 300lbs lost- and we can use her. "

We hope to get this 300 pound loss story on the site as well as a copy of this study.

3) We would love if anyone in the community who has had a chance to read the book over the last 6 months, please respond to this thread and share your own experience, feedback etc.

any PT members with some experience using this?

I have just purchased the 2 books and the dvd and I am trying to figure out how I can fix all this food for work or if there is an easy way to buy ready made MANDI foods. I start at 6am and I don't have time in the morning for any food prep. ( Guess I'll have to make some foods and freeze them)
If someone has some tips about simplifying the system, I woud really appreciate them.

I have just started the EFH program, today is day 3. I am not following it 100% but am choosing my meals/food with the general guidelines. I think I love it! I agree that the meals seem a bit too fancy and hard work. I love veggies, fruit, beans and nuts though so giving up the processed and white foods won't be too hard I hope. I need to lose 20 lbs. Is there a group that a small number of us starting this plan could be part of to share and support the process as we are starting it? I would really, really love to lose 15 of the 20 by Jan. 1, it would be so awesome to not go into the new year with that dreaded resolution of "this is the year I am going to get back into my size 8 (or even 10's)...." I would love be feeling good and looking good for the holiday season this time around.
So I will keep looking but a group with the above 2 goals would be fantastic!

Eat to Live

I just bought the book, Eat to Live, and am devouring it. All I want to do is learn this information and put it to the test. I love healthy food, but end up eating carbs at night and blowing it after a day of eating more nutrient rich food. I need to lose 20 lbs and it's been 2 1/2 months and only a 5 lb weight loss so far. Is anyone else just starting this book?
