My boyfriend is a couch potato and I spent the whole weekend doing nothing
every weekend I vow that I'll go out and run around by myself and I end up sitting with him. Watching sports. I've got to break the pattern. Any tips are sooooooo welcome.

Tips? My tip is go out and run! lol... You have no obligation to sit on a couch! I'm sure your bf wants some alone time too.

I agree with the above poster, just go out and RUN! maybe if your successful for running everyweekend you can find a nice reward for yourself...like new dumbells or lowfat icecream cone.

Or, if you ARE watching sports, get yourself a balance ball, or do exercises while watching them... At least you won't be sitting like a lump on the couch!
The other thing-- see if there are any social clubs that have sports, such as softball, volleyball, basketball, etc. that you can join. :-) Maybe if the 2 of you join a co-ed team, you can not only enjoy the sport, but also be an active participant!

MY BF is mostly the same way, but if the weather is nice I can convince him to play frisbee or something.
For the most part, I wake up 2 hours before him and workout before he even gets up. If we end up doing anything else together, even just walking to get dinner, it's bonus!

make a date with a friend to go out somewhere. Hire yourself out as a dog walker or find a neighbors dog to walk.... say you will do something for someone else to help hold yourself accountable to actually going out... that way it is not just up to you. Once you have a commitment it will be easier to go out and break the cycle.

My husband is the same way and is rail thin so he doesn't need to lose weight. I started training for a triathlon.....I feel like I have a goal to focus on and while my goal is only to finish, its incentive enough to get all my workouts in while I'm training. The nice benefit has been that my husband will l join me on the bike trail on the weekends and sometimes comes running with me. We're both starting to get out and be more active the weekends.....we've gone hiking, for walks, golfing etc.......I say get out there and lead the way....

These tips are great. Thanks! Maybe I'll sign up for a race. Then I'll be obligated to get out there.

I'm in a somewhat similar boat. Just wanted to say thanks for posting and thanks to all those who responded for the tips :-)

When it comes to merchandising, few items sell better to NBA fans than
the league's excellent assortment of team jerseys. Long known for a commitment to greater jersey varieties than competing leagues like the NFL, NHL, or Major League Baseball, the NBA provides its fans with some of the most unique and on-trend jersey designs of any major sports league. In addition, NBA fans will find plenty of replica jerseys
, championship jersey styles, and plenty of other options for the whole family.
For those fans who are searching for the perfect

apparel option, FansEdge.com has virtually every jersey currently available. Our commitment to a robust selection of jerseys means that even the pickiest NBA fans can find exactly what they need to watch the game at home, cheer the team on at the arena, and pass the time between games all season long.
Replica and Retro: The Most Popular Jersey Options for Today's Fans
For most fans, there is exactly one kind of jersey on the shopping list before each new
New England Patriots
: A replica jersey that sports not only the team's colors and official logos, but also the name and number of a fan's favorite player. For those who are sticking with this traditional option, we have jerseys and styles for every single one of the NBA's teams nationwide. In addition to replica home
New Orleans Saints
, we have a series of away jerseys and alternates that are sure to diversify an existing collection
New York Giants
and stand out in a crowd.
For long-time fans of the game
New York Jets
or those who simply enjoy a team's retro logos and colors, we have retro jerseys from across the league. These jerseys swap today's ultra-modern logos for

the look and feel of jerseys made in the 1990s and earlier. With timeless logos and even some retro player names or numbers, these jerseys are as in-demand as they are collectible.
Championship Jerseys are a Great Way to Commemorate the Post-Season
Commemoration jerseys for recent
appearances are a great purchase for fans of the NBA's best teams. These jerseys swap team colors and officially licensed logos for NBA Finals branding, championship information, and team-specific championship logos. These jerseys are a must-have item for fans of championship teams
, since they're produced in limited quantities and they're almost always deemed a collectible item shortly after their numbers run out.
For Young Fans, There is No Shortage of Options
NBA teams know that the best way to create a strong base of fans is to start early
, and that's why all teams have committed to a series of baby and children's items that fit those new to the rules of the game. The NBA's baby options include baby-sized jerseys and "creepers," perfect for use at home during the big game. For kids, there are plenty of jersey options that are virtually identical to our adult-sized offerings
. Younger fans of the game will enjoy replica and retro jersey options, as well as a limited selection of away jerseys or alternate jerseys that they might find even more appealing.
