Mama Wants Her Body Back

Ok. I am an infomercial junkie. I admit it. I buy (and usually return) products. It's not as bad as I make it seem. i think I've only purchased 15 products on TV ever.

So, my latest purchase was the workout DVD's "Mama Wants Her Body Back" You may or may not have seen this.

The price was NOT bad at all! With shipping it was $21.00 for 3 total body workouts and 3 ab workouts.

Each total body workout is 20 minutes long. Each ab workout is 10 minutes long.

Comes with a meal planner (like they all do), but it's for under 1000 calories a day, not for me.

It also came with a calendar for working out. I'll get back to this in a minute.

The concept behind the DVD's is about re-shaping specific areas of the body that area effected after pregnancy and childbirth: pelvic floor, all areas of the abs, shoulders (to get rid of the upper back slouch), hip flexors, and to strengthen the arms and legs. These are things I've been paying big bucks for at my chiropractor's office.

Today was workout 1. Got up at 4:30 and was ready to go. The workout is 20 minutes, but add 5 minutes on for warm up and cool down.

The workouts are done in 5 segments of 3 sets. 1st set is cardio, 2nd set is strength, and 3rd set is core. Each set is only about 1-2 minutes long, which I really liked.

It also came with a resistance band. I lift weights and consider myself to have fairly strong muscles (underneath the fat of course) and I thought the bands were a bit too hard to start out with. But I stayed with them.

I did make it through the first workout, but not without a few breaks. I like the quick sets and changes of muscles often so I didn't feel like my legs or arms or abs were on fire for more than 1 minute at a time.

I also felt the cardio portions were great and quick. I was definitely needing to catch my breath.

Now, the one thing they don't tell you is that you start out doing 3 workouts week one, then keep adding on. By week 12, you're doing a 20 minute workout every day plus 2 sets of 10 minute ab workouts.

I guess I don't have to stay on that schedule and I can go at my own pace, but summer is less than 12 weeks away.

I'll do another workout on Wednesday (workout 2 that I haven't seen yet).

My final review: love it! and I feel I still have a challenge and have to work up to doing the whole thing.

If anyone is interested in knowing how the 2nd and 3rd and ab workouts go, let me know and I'll keep doing updates.

Make it a positive day!

Fab.
