Is is possible to gain 7lbs in 4 days?

My scale weiged me at 150 on 4/11 and on 4/16 it said 157! AHHHHH Is this even possible? I haven't eaten anything crazy or gone on an all night burger party-Help !!!

How old are you, where are you in your cycle, are you under any unusual stress? I've had this happen to me and people, even my PT, say it is impossible. I've finally narrowed it down to HORMONES.

For you to gain 7 lbs. in 4 days you would have had to consume 245,000 calories more than usual over that 4 day period. Divided evenly, you would have had to have consumed 61,250 calories MORE THAN what is required to maintain your weight EACH of those days.
Crazy, right? lol
You're probably retaining water. Sodium, PMS, stress, or a combination of all 3 make you do that. Keep us posted. I think you'll find you're A-OK. :)

Working out?

Gaining that is IMPOSSIBLE.

Have you been working out hard lately? Lots of lifting or endurance athletics? Your muscles will retain a LOT of water as they repair themselves.

Try taking some fresh lemon juice in some water in the mornings, or cider vinegar tablets (from the health food store) - plus drink more water in order to lose any bloat. You're fine.

Actually: to gain 7 lbs in that period of time would mean eating 24,500 extra calories in that week ( a pound of fat is 3500 calories).

Divided evenly, would be an extra 3,500 calories per day over what you need to maintain your current body weight,

Could be a combination of water-weight gain, added muscle ( weighs more than fat) if you're doing resistance, and taking in some extra calories.

Don't beat yourself up over it. The hormonal thing passes and there's always another week; and keeping track of the food intake religiously will help you tweak all that too.

From one who knows--lots of ups and downs ( down 60.6 and counting!)
