getting rid of stress factor and eating

I have a problem with overeating when I am stressed out.

Recently, a hidden source of stress in my life became obvious to me. I work closely with a friend who in fact got me the job I have. This person has, in the past year, become by turns passive-agressive and angry when it comes to work problems, and a large part of our work consists of fixing many continual little problems. I finally got barked at in front of coworkers about something that wasn't me, and also that isn't an urgent or large problem, and it popped into my mind that this person isn't my friend any more and hasn't been for some time.

This made me all stressed from being yelled at, and unhappy about having somehow lost the friendship.

At least I now recognize where a lot of my stress is coming from. I had been operating under the assumption that this person was my friend and that the poor behavior was somehow justified.

Now I need some advice on what to do about both the situation and of course any help on the eating would also be welcome.
