Allergies!

Back in March, I heard JJ Virgin on satellite radio. I decided I had nothing to lose since my dieting for 3 months didn't get me very far. After the 28 days and giving up all the intolerance foods, I lost quite a bit of weight. Sticking with it, I lost a total of 50 lbs! I backslid a bit and gained 5 back. However, I recently had an allergy test done and found that I'm allergic to BEEF, lactose, eggs, tomato, yeast and fish. From the 28 Day program, I knew I had an intolerance to eggs and lactose. I'm intolerant to gluten. I can't figure out what to eat now. My only source of animal protein can only come from poultry. I guess I could supplement with beans but I know I'll get sick of eating chicken every day.

Any recipe ideas?? Anybody else with beef allergies?

Why not lamb goat bison or venison? Or pork for that matter? Turkey does taste different than chicken, and there is fish.

You can flavour it differently and put it with different sides and it won't be so bad to have chicken every day. Plus, using ground chicken for meatballs or a meat loaf makes it a little different that just a baked chicken breast.

And not all cheeses have lactose. You can get protein from dairy without lactose.

If you have a beef allergy, you can't eat any red meat, pork included. Most beef allergies are a result from the sugars (not a protein) when the food breaks down in your body. We have a freezer full of venison that I can no longer eat. I already use unsweetened coconut milk and coconut creamer. It's so hard when you have to remove so much from your diet and frankly, make your family eat this way, too. We kind of have a semi-game plan in place for the upcoming week with making sure there is plenty of chicken/turkey made that way when I make something for the rest of the family, I don't have to make two dinners.

Fortunately your family will be well served by the quality food you do eat! I would invest in some cookbooks oriented toward clean eating. It's tough changing an entire way of eating, but over time it becomes the new norm.

Maybe get a good vegetarian cook book. Or search vegetarian recipes online. That way you will get a lot of good recipes that don't have beef and you won't have to eat chicken every night. It will add more variety to your diet overall.
