Join the Nov 3-10 8 Day Brutal Challenge

Team Progress Not Perfection is having our second 8 Day Brutal Challenge which starts Nov 3rd. This challege was a huge success the first time we had it so we are doing it again. Many of us made lasting diet and exercise changes that have really stuck. You are welcome to copy this to any team you join, or join Progress Not Perfection and join in w/ us (enter on the community tab). Its a very short challenge (8 days), so its an easy time period to keep yourself focused and motivated on. After the 8 days, we found we had mad changes that really stuck. Heres a copy of the challenge:

Nov 3rd-10th 8 Day Brutal Challenge:
I know we can't eat for the purpose of losing wt forever - you would die of boredom. I know we can't exericise at high intensity every day forever - we'd get exhausted, sick, and not be able function at work and home.

But I believe we can do it for 8 days. Why 8? It starts on the morning of Sat, Nov 3 and goes through the end of Sat, Nov 10. Thats 8 full days and leaves Sun, Nov11 at the end to rest before the new week. There are 2 types of w/o days.
On brutal days -Sat, Sun, Tue, Thur, Sat- you try to double the time and or intensity. The basic idea is to workout each brutal day at a pace that you could not keep up for anymore than 8 days. I've scheduled the brutal days on the weekend, then spaced a day apart during the week, then back to back on the Fri-Sat. You get 3 "rest" days during the week.
On rest days - Mon, Wed, Fri - you do a normal workout. Yes, you still exercise but at your normal level.

In addition, you commit to zero junk the entire week. I know I can't make a committment like that forever. I don't even want to. But in a challenge, with feedback and lots of friends watching, I can do it for 8 days.

At the end of this 8 days, your body should be exhausted to the point where you would definitely not want to go on at the that level. You then rest on the Sun after the last Sat (really, do nothing).

Yes, its intense. But I'm hoping for a 3lb drop in weight. Thats huge. I seen people work hard and take a month to do that. You might need to adjust the dates/times of your brutal days.

Its only 8 days. But its enough time for you to make a surge forward, or break through a plateau, or just make a few lasting lifestyle changes.

Here is what I hope from any takers (as I will be doing):
Weigh yourself each morning before consuming anything but after that which most do in the morning (I'm trying to be polite and not use the P-word).
Each day, everyday, comment on this thread (logs are to hard to find), document your weight, your workout, what made it brutal, and how you are feeling. Why was it brutal for you. If you powerwalked 30min instead of casually walking for 30min. Say so. After a brutal workout, you deserve to brag. It will also show others what is possible.

Also, document all the junk you did not eat that you normally do. If you normally have a soda (I will be giving up 2 32oz sodas (at least half ice) each day) or normally add sour creme to your potato and did not do that, let people know.

If you are fully engaged in the idea, send a comment that you will be taking the challenge. If you think this is crazy or its just not the right time due to your schedule, or are just happy where you are, send comments during the challenge supporting all who do. Getting fit is a group activity.
Any takers?

check this out !!! We have done this once before it was successful, but also an eye-opening experience learning about yourself.....
It really is not as hard as it sounds,
**no junk food
**log daily
**increase or intesify your work-outs, everyday except, Mon, Wed & Fri..(normal work-outs those days)..... and you do need to keep this personal, you know what you are doing now just step it up, you don't need to copy anyone...

8 Day Brutal Challenge starts tomorrow

Tomorrow is day 1 of the 8 day brutal challenge. For the 12 people so far who have joined, brutal means either you:
Double the intensity of your normal w/o,
Double the duration,
Double the number of w/o's,
or some combination of the above.
Thats based on your version of normal, not someone elses.

Also, no "crap" food, whatever crap means to you. Mostly, no sugar, fast foods, and as little processed food as possible.

Still time for others to join in. Or just visit and cheer us on. The challenge is at team Progress Not Perfection.
