Please answer if you are short and skinny...

I just realized that I have this weird fear that if I am at my goal weight I will be a really small person and that because of this people will treat me differently - maybe like a child, or not seriously, or something.

So if you are short and near your ideal weight (I am 5'2" and my goal weight is 135 lbs.) can you answer whether you feel like you are small in a bad way and that people treat you differently, or is it totally awesome to be a healthy weight and you look and feel great.

I've always been 5'2" and have weighed between 110-125 throughout life and as an adult I've never felt like I was treated like anything other than the grown up that I was and am! In many ways people reflect back what you project - if you are child like in your voice, your interactions and your behaviors then that's what will get you treated like a child. Your weight won't influence that.

I will say that being at my preferred weight is, in fact, totally awesome and I do look and feel great! It feels great to have confidence in everything that I wear, to have everything I pull out of my closet fit and look good. That, to me, feels good every day! (But it also feels great to run that marathon and hike mountains, etc. Skinny weak is not awesome!)

Thank you. That was exactly what I was looking for. To answer the previous question, I currently weigh 195 (10 lbs lost so far) so my goal weight is pretty far away. I don't want any underlying issues to hold me back.

10:52 again...

btw - meant to say I've always weighed that much throughout my adult life. I obviously grew into my 5'2" . :)
