I can't join your group as I don't have time for commenting on multiple sites. I did check out the group description and liked it. If you don't find enough members to get your group going (some have found that to be an issue), I hope you will check out team progress not perfection 2013. I love debate as it is an excellent opportunity to learn. As an engineer, I appreciate scientific evidence, however, I am still skeptical of many "studies". Even double blind tests can lead to questionable results based on the population studied. I've seen studies that show this and that, only to find out the population the study was based on had issues that skewed the results. I read the things you don't believe in on the group description page. Most I had no opinion on since I've never worried about them. I also believe in basing many of my beliefs on antidotal evidence as opposed to strictly scientific studies.

My personal belief is that our diet is our choice. Much like the captain of a ship determines the course of a ship, we are responsible for our choices. I don't believe in food demons, chocolate addictions, or badly wired brains nor do I believe that the gov't, corporations, or advertising are responsible for my eating. Those things may put bad currents and headwinds in the way we choose to travel, but every bite I take is due to my choices.

So if you don't get your group going as well as intended, or would just like more response than you will get in a group, check out progress not perfection 2013. We have a program going that anyone can jump in at anytime and have been having great results w/ consistent wt loss for most of the 20+ people involved in the challenge.

Didn't mean to hijack your thread. You just sound like someone I would enjoy having on the team. I give pretty strong opinions and always enjoy getting pushback and differing opinions.
