OT - Fukushima

I know that the majority of what is on the internet is probably blowing this out of proportion, but it's still scaring the crap out of me.

I don't like the thought of my wild Alaskan salmon swimming in nuclear waste run off. Buy Norwegian salmon? Or just limit fish consumption. The articles I've seen show all the pollution washing up on the west coast. I haven't read about it in The New York Times, The Atlantic or Mother Jones, yet. But it still makes me a bit uneasy too, just thinking about all that.

In the meantime, just take tip top care of your health. You'll be much better off than those who do not. Be an efficient detoxifier. Your diet and exercise promote this.

What about eating produce from the West coast? Like California strawberries and such.

Can your body detox radiation?

I am still going to eat produce from California. I'm just a bit concerned about fish. Sushi doesn't seem as appetizing now. Besides, mercury is higher in tuna and larger fish. I've read some folks are moving toward smaller fish because less mercury. Something to consider.

As fas as pollution, radiation, etc. I think no matter where you go, nowhere on this planet is pristine. But I'm still going to buy local organic whenever possible. Just do your best, from where you are, with what you can.

Presented in a somewhat humorous manner, even. Basically, there is not a current thread to US food supply.

Here's a similar post; not so amusing, but simpler and with video of the "spaghetti noodles of death" model running.
