The best ab exercises for a woman.
Anyone have some really good ab exercises for a woman, but NOT plank because I hate it.

Why are you wanting to do ab exercises? If the purpose is that you want to strengthen your core because its good for overall fitness, then great. But if the MAIN purpose is because you want your stomach to be smaller, it won't help. The abs are like any other muscle. The only thing exercise will do for the ab muscles is make them stronger and/or larger (all muscles grow as they strengthen). If there is a layer of fat over the abs, it will still hang there even w/ strong abs. For fat loss (wherever it might be on the body), I'd recommend compound exercises that use multiple muscles, like squats, burpees, clean and press, etc. You will work the abs during these, plus burn a lot more calories than during an isolation exercise that works only the abs. As for "exercises for a woman", your muscles are the same as a mans. Any exercise that works the abs will work the same muscle in the same way regardless of your sex.
I do multiple core exercises (which includes abs and lower back) but I only do lots of them because it is necessary for my sport, which is whitewater kayaking. Here are some I do:
1. Bent leg crunches
2. Laying on a bench w/ legs extended over the end of the bench straight out, then pulling knees back towards the chest (do them slowly for the most burn)
3. Incline situps (this is an advanced exercise for after your core is already strong and it does put a lot of strain on lower back region so I don't advice for beginners). A beginner can do this laying on the floor. The important thing is to keep your feet from touching the ground when you do them as much as possible.
4. Sitting cross ways on a bench with hands on bench for stability legs out and back parallel to floor, then pull knees towards chest and crunch the torso fwd (this is another advanced exercise).
5. ab machine (hold 2s in the contracted position (don't pull w/ your arms the way a lot of people do, use the abs)
That's just my thoughts, for what its worth.

My abs suck!!!
I have a belly I want gone....3 kids later, I feel gross. But I notice that after a day or 2 of working out, especially after ab workouts, the front of my neck is SUPER sore. So that let's me know my ab muscles are really weak, and I don't have much core strength. I don't have a work out bench of any kind...or any exercise gear. Any tips for me.

The best ab exercise for women is to contract those transverse abs as you back away from the fridge and pantry. Doesn't matter how strong or sculpted those abs are if you're eating to maintain the layer of fat covering them!

but i agree control your diet and your abs will form.. weights with compound movements if you can lift is really good..
i also agree reducing your body fat overall you will see abs.
my abs suck.. if you are doing crunches . in Jillian Mitchaels words your neck is not invited to the party.. its all abs.. don't pull with your neck.. tighten your core and stabilize yourself that way.
