Your Age in Chocolate (for fun)
Chocolate lovers, grab a pencil and paper and give this a try.
1. First of all, pick the number of times a week that you would
like to have chocolate
(more than once but less than 10)
2. Multiply this number by 2 (just to be bold)
3. Add 5
4. Multiply it by 50 -- I'll wait while you get the calculator
5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1756 ....
If you haven't, add 1755.
6. Now subtract the four digit year that you were born
You should have a three digit number
The first digit of this was your original number.
(i.e., how! many times you want to have chocolate each week).
The next two numbers are...
YOUR AGE! (Oh YES, it is!!!!!)

I used 7 as the number of times I wanted choc. and it worked for me. I should have my math whiz son look at it-he has given me similar puzzles in the past.

it works w/ any number. sorry had to crack it the min i read this (i know i'm a total dork)...
Assume x - number you thought of:
(2x+5)x50+1756=100x + 250+1756=100x + (250+1756) = 100x + 2006.
If you subtract the year of your birth from 2006 which is now, obviously you get your age, plus the number of times a week you want choc, say 3(i know low) you get 300+your age. This will obviously not work if you are over 100!

wow - thanks to the poster who put up the equation...i've always known there was a mathematical explaination for it but I've always been too lazy to think about it..I am always just impressed it worked :)
