ever happen to you?

do you ever have food sitting infront of you, and the more and more you look at it the less and less you want to eat it?

I have a jello cake left over from july 4th for breakfast this morning and it's just been sitting on my desk. I cant bring myself to eat it.

why let it set there to just tempt you later. while your will power is strong offer it to someone to brighten their day.
or you could just pitch it.
your choice :)

That's a good thing, isn't it? I bet someone else (who has never seen it before) would love it. Don't force yourself to eat something you don't want to.

i often do this with leftovers. i know i should eat them so they don't go to waste, but sometimes i get it out and the longer i look at it, the grosser it looks. i can relate.

Boy can I ever! And I never used to be like that, but I've been cooking with fresher, lighter ingredients for several years now and I just about can't handle the sight of greasy, rich food - especially gravy - the mere sight of it is a wee bit nauseating. I never understood picky eaters but if this is why I am well on my way to becoming one....

I agree-- Throw it away if it doesn't look appealing to you!

Now that I've been eating less and more healthy foods, I find that I will tell my hubby I'm full already. Sometimes I still eat the extra bites, other times, I just STOP. It's a matter of re-training our brains to accept that "no means no" even when it comes to eating!

6:31 poster again...

But see - eating the extra bits isn't the issue - that isn't even an option anymore. Eating it at all isn't really an option. The food is just so revolting that I toss it because I literally CAN'T bring myself to eat it. It's become that unappealing. I don't toss it because I shouldn't eat it - I toss it because I can't bring myself to do so, and the longer it sits there the grosser it becomes until I have to cover it with a napkin or get rid of it. I really didn't used to be like that, but my tastes have changed so dramatically that I really can't stand certain foods anymore.

Just the words "jello cake" sound sort of disgusting. Good for you for throwing away old food!
