Warm lemon water
What's the deal with people drinking warm water with lemon? What is is supposed to do for you that cold plain water doesn't?
Wed. Jul 12, 2:40am
It's a laxitive. Usually used in detoxing. It helps the colon out and brings the toxins out of your body. The temperature of the water helps the body out so it doesn't have to work so hard to make it the temp the body needs it to be, and also warm because it helps work out the toxins easier.

laxitive, really? is it the lemon?
Wednesday, July 12, 2006, 10:01 AM
Laxative or Diuretic?
I thought lemon was actually a diuretic, like apple cider vinegar?
Best to look this one up...
Lemon water used to be the rage with diets back in the day. I remember it was required on the Diet Center diet (early 80's?)

My acupuncturist told me that it helps to clear mucous out of your system and get your digestive tract activated for the day, so recommended it in the morning. I've never gotten to the point of enjoying it though, so stopped doing it unless I have a cold of some sort.

here is an address for The World's Healthiest Foods website, specifically, the lemons/limes section. interesting stuff!
Wednesday, July 12, 2006, 11:04 AM
The sour taste can also help take the edge off a craving for sweets.
Wednesday, July 12, 2006, 11:11 AM
I'd say it's a laxitive. I always have laxitive like symptoms after having the lemon water.
Wednesday, July 12, 2006, 12:33 PM
i don't think lemon is a laxative-otherwise lemonade would cause that effect on millions every summer! however-lemon is an antiseptic and it helps clean out impurities and toxins in your system. that is why a lot of people on "cleanses" drink it. i'm not sure about drinking it warm though-i've never heard that.
Wednesday, July 12, 2006, 1:21 PM
Op here, I guess it couldn't hurt to try it. I would like to be more regular, and adding lemon to the water I'm trying to drink during the day couldn't hurt. Getting warm water is more difficult at work, I guess I could mix it with some hot water (we have a cold and hot spout on our water bottle dispenser.)

lemon water is very common in India, I think the lemon helps to purify the water. At least three detox books I have read recently advise drinking lemon water first thing in the morning, as it helps to detoxify the system. I drink it in an attempt to find something to wake up with other than coffee. Not much success thus far.

lemon is not a laxative-but it helps cleanse the liver of toxins, and helps with kidney function. i'm not sure why people drink it with warm water.
Sunday, April 22, 2007, 5:15 PM
You drink it with warm water to make it easier on your body. The body doesn't have to work to warm up the water thus making it easier for your body to pass through onto where its needed

it is very true that it helps release mucous. I can testify to that. it also helps with gas!!!

Lemons, like other vitamin-C rich fruits, were highly prized by the miners and developers during the California Gold Rush in the mid-19th century, since they were used to protect against the development of scurvy. They were in such demand that people were willing to pay up to $1 per lemon, a price that would still be considered costly today and was extremely expensive back in 1849.

I love lemon water of all kinds-temperatures.
I buy minute maid frozen. It is either with the other frozen fruit juices or with the frozen fish. It comes in a box. It is the best tasting lemon out there even better than fresh in my opinion.
I believe Dr Oz said that it wakes up your liver in the morning when you drink it.
I would be curious though if the new true lemon dry packets have the same effect as the fresh or frozen lemon. I like them and they are very convenient.

actually it is a laxitive of some sort, I wouldnt say full on laxitive...but it does help move things a long, sort of like a detox. Helps a lot with consipation too. When you add sugar to the mix, it takes that affect away. That's why it doesnt happen with lemonade. I've been drinking warm lemon water for a year now, every day, and the results are amazing!
Less bloated, less water weight gain, resulting is lost lbs! Skin, hair and nails are fantastic and strong. You don't get as sick either, because of the high amount of Vit C!!!
Its a GREAT thing to try...you'll love the results!

pp, how much do you drink? and how much lemon in it? I'm curious to try it. Thanks!
Wednesday, December 05, 2007, 4:33 PM
I love it. I love the taste of it. Feels more refreshing.
Wednesday, December 05, 2007, 4:38 PM
I've actually heard that by drinkin git cold- you burn more calories- the energy it takes to warm up the liquid- very minimumal though.
Wednesday, December 05, 2007, 4:39 PM
it is really refreshing and on an empty stomach in the morning it definitely helps keep you regular!
Wednesday, December 05, 2007, 4:58 PM
I've been drinking it for the last week because I've heard that it prevents cold, but I haven't noticed any "cleansing" effect. I have been drinking it cold though. Maybe I'll try it with warm water tomorrow morning.

My mom always gave us warm lemon water when we were congested, stuffy or had some sort of cold like that. It always helped clear us up. I think it definitely has some detox/mucus relief qualities. I don't think it is by any means a laxative.
Wednesday, December 05, 2007, 6:15 PM
So do you squeeze a lemon and mix it with hot water? What would be the ratio? Want to try it.
Wednesday, December 05, 2007, 6:22 PM
For colds and a decongestant my mom always did half a squeezed lemon and 1/2 cp warm to hotter water, when we were real little she put in some sugar but as we got older we didn[t need it.

Must the magical tea/warm water combo be untampered with, or might I add a little tea to that?
Thursday, December 06, 2007, 1:31 PM
I swear by it when I'm sick with honey. It is the only thing that makes me feel better.
Friday, December 07, 2007, 9:07 AM

Lemon juice and warm water
The Diet Center suggested two tablespoons in 8 oz warm water. In the past, I've used tap water and frozen Minute Maid lemon juice.
It's a great morning tonic.
Thanks for reminding me of this. I'll restart the habit tomorrow morning.

warm lemon water
Correct, it works like a filter cleaner. I do know that the warm water wakes up your digestive system. The sooner you wake it, the sooner your metabolism kicks in: Which is good on many levels. The lemon works like a cleaner. They suggest using purifed, filtered or spring water (with good bacteria, just investigate it's source). Also, it is important to make it warm like body temperature...not hot, as; starting at the throat, we want it to start waking up our system. This would also, include your tonsils (another germ defense system) if you still have them. I did this for a week, cutting out: grease, meat, carbs, caffeine, wheat and dairy. I lost 9 lbs without excercise; as this would be too hard on the system. I continued this for another week and lost up to 15 lbs total. The minute, I quit this; I lost nothing. Today, I will start the warm lemon water regimine again.
Sunday, October 25, 2009, 12:26 PM
I was told to use ½ a lemon with any amount of water in which you would drink the entire glass of. Tap water has chlorines, oxides and fluorides. If you have studied how fluoride helps hide oxides to your defense system and has even aided in Alzheimers, you would not want to drink lemon (a cleaner) with tap water. Personally, I no longer drink tap water nor drink anything acidic (including coke) from a can. It's some scary stuff.

Yes True Lemon will work - It's just dried lemon. I use it away from home when traveling and fresh lemons are not available.

Lots of people drink hot water. Some like to put something in it, e.g. a mint leaf, a slice of lemon, whatever. Adding something to the hot water just makes it taste a little different and look a little prettier. Also, other people may be uncomfortable watching you drink just a cup of hot water, but if you put something into it, e.g. lemon or mint or whatever, they are much more comfortable with you drinking your cup of hot water!
Some people don't want caffeine. Caffeine exacerbates fibrocystic breast disease, contributes to dehydration, keeps one awake at night, precipitates panic attacks, etc. People can have various compelling reasons for drinking something without caffeine but usually it’s the simple matter of people drinking hot water because they LIKE hot water.!
Eating food or drinking drinks, especially hot food or hot drinks, stimulates the gastrocolic reflex in the gut to move food along through the digestive tract frequently resulting in a bowel movement.. It’s the distention of the stomach and the effect of the heat that does it, not added lemon.

Warm lemon water
I actually find if I get a sinus infection, warm lemon water as hot as I can take it makes a world of difference. It breaks up the mucus really well. Cold water doesn't do that. It could have something to do with the fact that warm water is molecularly different than cold water. The molecules with warm water are much more active. And there are enzymes in lemons, as with any fruit. I bet those enzymes are also much more active as the temperature rises.
But either way, the breaking up of mucus still holds true for warmer water, so it's probably too that it breaks down fat better. Whenever you clean dishes you use hot/warm water rather than cold to break up the grease better right? Same deal!

There was a fan walking the Ohio State concourse wearing a
, and when approached about why he bought a fake jersey he became offended because he was unaware it was fraudulent. That fan bought the jersey on Amazon.com, so he felt it was a legitimate place to purchase such a
San Diego Chargers
.Most fans are like O'Hara, though. They know that the NCAA restricts Ohio State from authorizing a jersey with a current player's name on it, but they buy them from online retailers. The most popular one is AliExpress.com, the international version of Amazon. It's an aggregator of countless independent retailers that will send consumers in the United States the product directly. It usually takes three weeks, but the product comes.
But sometimes those products are sold second-handedly on places like EBay or Amazon
San Francisco 49ers
, which is how unsuspecting consumers unaware of what's legitimate end up buying them."The people I've talked to, the majority of people know they're fake and don't care," Van Brimmer said. "That's distressing."
Impact on Ohio State
Ohio State athletic director Gene Smith told cleveland.com that a very small portion of the program's revenue on apparel comes from
sales. It may be smaller than he thought off hand.
sales accounted for less than one percent of Ohio State's overall apparel business the last fiscal year. That figure is down from the six-year average of 1.51 percent. Jersey sales peaked in 2011 and declined every year since until last season
Stitched NFL Patch
, but last season included special national championship product.
During the last fiscal year -- July of 2014 to June of 2015 -- Ohio State made $1.6 million on
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
, which was 0.7 percent of total apparel sales that totaled $221 million. Sales of T-Shirts, sweaters, hats, shorts, pants and things like that make up the majority. The number of jerseys may seem overwhelming at a game, but in the grand scheme of apparel, they're not the top thing purchased. But that doesn't mean the the mass counterfeit sales of
isn't a concern for Ohio State."There's a quality issue. Where was it made? How was the worker treated? There's a lot of issues involved," Van Brimmer said. "Counterfeiting is a crime."And Ohio State is having a really hard time of shutting it down. In the old days, counterfeit jerseys were made in mass in places like China and brought through a port of
into the United States in a place like New Orleans. Many times, those counterfeits were intercepted by U.S. customs agents and they never saw the secondary market.
Now those manufacturers are making and shipping those counterfeits directly to the consumer, so it's much harder for Ohio State to track and shut down. Ohio State tries to shut down every fraudulent manufacture it comes across -- places like AliExpress have fraud departments -- but most times those manufacturers pop back up under different names almost immediately.Ohio State sales are
, though. It's just hard not to notice when you go to a football game that those fakes are floating around everywhere you look, whether the fan knows it or not."From a total sales perspective, we've seen nothing but increases this year," Van Brimmer said. "It's hard to say what the impact is because things are good
. If things were in the toilet we could tell you something's going on and things are going badly."But the problem with these kind of goods is that we can't track them and we don't know how much we're losing or how many of the illegal goods are actually in the market place."

There's always been a strange cognitive dissonance about ads on uniforms. Professional sports leagues have operated for decades under the creative fiction that advertising on uniforms is some sort of infringement on aesthetic purity
, a sentiment that's as laughable as the idea that college athletes don't deserve a share of the billions they generate. The truth, of course, is that every uniform already allows advertising in the form of the manufacturer's logo
Up to 50 off low price jerseys
. (You could argue that the uniforms themselves are advertisements for the NFL Shop, and vice versa, but that's going down a symbologic rabbit hole we can leave closed for now.)
Consider a few facts: most major sports already allow advertising on their uniforms. Soccer teams around the world, including the United States
Arizona Cardinals Jersey
, proudly sport the logos of their chief sponsors. NASCAR teams and drivers are so associated with their sponsors that fans often refuse to buy competitors' brands
Carolina Panthers Jersey
. Golfers have sport the logos of high-end companies on their shirts and bags as well as their visors. Most notably for the purposes of this discussion, most teams already allow ads on practice jerseys, as you can see from these photos from the last couple days:
Plus, NFL Europe (RIP) allowed ads on uniforms
Denver Broncos Jersey
, like you can see here with Kurt Warner:
Or here in a scrum:
NBA Commissioner Adam Silver estimated that ads on NBA uniforms could bring in $100 million a year. That's money that other
New England Patriots Jersey
leagues are simply leaving on the table. Consider the fact that NFL uniforms have far more space available for ads--you could show IMAX movies on some guys' shoulder pads--and the fact that regular-season
Seattle Seahawks Jersey
games outdraw the NBA Finals ratings-wise, and you're looking at far too much cash for the NFL to turn away too much longer.
It comes down to a simple proposition
Green Bay Packers Jersey
: are you really going to stop watching the NFL because 's sporting a Dunkin' Donuts patch on one shoulder? Of course not.
One key, of course, is matching the right sponsor with the right team. The NFL will have its say in advertiser selection
Kansas City Chiefs Jersey
, to avoid some Texas offramp strip club sponsoring the Cowboys or some Bay-area pawn shop hooking up with the Raiders. You'll be looking at multi-year agreements; this won't be like NASCAR, where advertisers can switch from week to week and certain unfortunate cars might run without ads at all
Pittsburgh Steelers Jersey
. Dozens of companies are willing to spend millions for 30 seconds of Super Bowl ad time; you think there won't be a line out the door to buy three hours' worth?
So, yes, ads are coming to
Wholesale Jerseys 2016
uniforms. Maybe not next year, but soon, and for the rest of our viewing lives. At least we can take heart in the fact that we won't be watching, say, the Citibank Giants play the Coca-Cola Falcons. Yet.
