Possibly gross for some!

Do you ladies shave your vaginal hair? I just trim it once in a while but I was wondering what the majority does, as I am kind of scared to completely shave it off.

I shave it all off. I once had it waxed completely but I don't think that's pain I ever want to know again. lol

I wax my bikini line (I go in kind of far though) and whatever's left I keep really trim. Although, on occasion I'll shave it all off and I enjoy that too... kind of depends on my mood.

I shave my bikini line and sometimes even more -- leaving only a landing strip.

I only shave my bikini line. I can't imagine shaving it all off.

I shave everything...but not completely bald. Leave just short hairs.

I shave it all off, I have for years. Just my preference. I would suggest giving it a try. It will always grow back it you hate it.

Yeah - it's the growing it back part which is why I don't shave it all - that can itch! I also do the bikini line and borrow teh husband's clppers for the rest (1/4"). It just feels a lot cleaner that way.

I shave it all off too and have for years. And just so you know if you are going to try it it may itch once or twice growing back but mine NEVER does anymore. But then again I keep it up very well, it never really "grows back"
I love it!

When I shave it all off, I end up with red itchy bumps always! So I started going the Brazilian wax route. It lasts about 2 months for me, and each time I go back, it hurts less than the time before, b/c the hair gets finer. It still hurts like hell, trust me, but, once every 2 months is better than itching all the time!

I don't really care what my hair does, but my fiance prefers none, so that's what I do. When he's good :-)

GOD ISN't there any censorship here??? PT, why are you allowing threads like this?

What on earth is wrong with this thread?! There is nothing immoral, illegal, or unhealthy about removing hair. Very upscale salons offer services to remove hair anywhere, by various methods. Most estheticians (waxers) are college educated. This isn't a back-alley, keep-it-quiet sort of thing. It's just hair.

I agree 12:47. If you read the op's post, and think that it is not appropriate, then stop reading. No one is forcing you to read the whole thing.

If you get red bumps down there when you shave try shaving in the direction the hair grows instead of opposite. You still get a pretty close shave and no red bumps! I do it that way now and it helps a lot. I just can't afford waxing so that's how I fixed that problem!

Thanks for the advice! I've done it that way and still get the bumps... Now I just make my fiance split the price of the waxing with me!

funny moment

Wll, just thought I would share this tip... if you use nair and plan to keep some of the hair... don't try and go potty while the stuff is still working on the hair.

I was in college, about to try a summer session for ROTC camp- they told us to be all trimmed up- maybe to be eaiser to check for ticks, etc... anyway... I was using nair because I had never had luck with shaving. I gooped the stuff on, carefully leaving myself a little triangle and then HAD to pee. SO then later on, after washing all the stuff off... I had just a really thin funky looking line. I felt so embarrased I took all of it off. Then was so embarrassed later when showering with 20+ other women. Strangers really- trying to explain about my tribulations with the nair...

It is the growing back part I despise...

12:43 Poster, you made me giggle.

12:43 poster... honestly, the thread is labeled "possibly gross to some" if you read that and thought... hmm... may not like this, why read it? And more importantly, why post on it? I'm just curious. When I don't like a thread I don't read it, but really, what is so offensive about this thread to you? I'm actually really interested in your response, I mean, do you not have hair there like the rest of us? And are you opposed to keeping or removing it using various methods? Or just opposed to talking about it?

OP here

Thanks ladies for all the advice.

My hair does itch and I have a very thick growth. I think I should give shaving off a try. But am scared it might come back rougher.

Waxing? God cant even imagine. It hurts me to do the under-arms.. ouch
Thanks again
