poll: known or hidden

i think because the posters identification is hidden some people are rude and just mean.
how many think the owner of the post should be known or hidden?
maybe PT will change it if we get enogh saying we dont like it...or it will stay the same if most like it the way it is

so you think if i have to include my name you somehow "know" me better and that scares me from being rude-even though rude is a judgement call?

I think people should just THINK before you post. I think anonymity is nice but I do think people should post comments here as if their comments are identified. They should also try to remember that the person they are being rude to may just be one of their own PT friends!

Being able to post anonymously here is very important to me. While my group members don't necessarily know me, they do know my username and I post things here that I would be embarrased for anyone to know at all. I'm able to get true and honest feelings out here and I feel like I get better feedback because people can say what they really think. Sure, there are snarky comments sometimes but I also get honesty.

I like the anonymity; makes me not worry about being embarassed by any questions.

I love the ability to be annonymous. It lets me ask questions I might be too embarrassed to ask if I had to identify myself. I also love being able to offer my opinion (I hope while NOT being rude or obnoxious) without being publicly identified with it.

Please this site is anonymous for a reason, so people can speak freely. If you don't like what someone has to say don't frigging keep reading it. If you want to go to a different site where people know who everyone is leave. But of course it is the internet and you can be anyone you want. Just because someone says they are so and so doesn't make it true. Grow up.

I think the users commenting should be identified and the comments should be moderated. I just joined the site and the community forum was the part I was most disappointed with. People just seem mean and nasty here. It's certainly not the atmosphere I was expecting.

if you don't like the forum, just stick to commenting in your group(s) and/or team(s).

Anonymous... with qualificaton

I think being anonymous is OK, but would hope PT has a way to monitor and know who the posters are so they can slap nasty posters.

If you just joined, where did you see mean and nasty posts if you JUST joined?

To newcomer(s)

to the newly joined, I have been on PT for over a year and there is far more positive input than negative here, and there are really some super people to help you with concerns and questions. I think people should be free to express themselves, but if a poster gets overly negative, the best thing we can do is ignore it-it really isn't worth the time or energy to focus on downers.

i think not being identified leaves it open for people to say things they normally wouldnt....like stealing or cheating ..people who would never think about it because its wrong would think different about it if they knew for sure they wouldnt get caught ..i think it would keep everyone more honest and less negative if they knew there name would show up all the time cuz im sure its just a handful of memebers that make the majority of the negative and unsupportive posts...

I disagree that having your name attached would keep you more homest. I think it would have the oppiste effect because of the judgement factor

I have been on other posting sites where "names" are attached to each post. People are extremely rude on most of those sites. I have seen some very rude posts here, most are not. Most people today are accustom to a secret life on the net so they hide behind an assumed identity when names are used. I don't think there is any benefit to showing names. Let's keep it anonymous.

Yes it is very sad thing that I thought she is going to rock the show and get huge majority in the competition. A woman being Super power in the world is great thing to hear those words. In uni essay writing service blog articles she is the most favored candidate to become popular but there at the time we have seen twist at last.
