What keeps you motivated?

I live for exercise. When I'm exercising I tend to eat healthier and see the food as fuel for the exercise. I think exercise is what keeps me going. My end goal is to be healthy and fit. I want a healthy BMI and a healthy body fat percentage - and lots of lean muscle to compete in all the endurance events I've dreamed of doing!

So I ask, what keeps you going? When things look blah and you don't feel like you can possibly count another point, what keeps you going? If you're feeling like lazing around the house and you can't think of even slipping on your workout clothes, let alone working out, what keeps you going? I can't wait to see the responses!

the only thing that keeps me motivated is that I enjoy thoroughly what I am doing. Whether it is work, exercise, eating. If I enjoy it I do a lot of it.

Lifting more weight, running further. Seeing myself looking great in pictures. Trying on small clothes at the store.

PT Works

So far -- PT is keeping me motivated. Logging everyday and reading everyone elses (which takes time and a sacrifice) but I find it's all worth it b/c I want to post my losses and workout times (b/c I know it will benefit me and someone else).

Goals - short-term and long-term are awesome motivators for me. Try some.

I have a wall of mirrors in my dining room and no table because I use the space for my workout room. I don't dare go to the gym in a sports bra and tiny shorts, but I love to workout at home infront of the mirror dressed like that because seeing my body in motion and the changes it has already been through keeps me going.

Remembering where I've been. I try to remember as clearly as I can what it was like to be 25lbs heavier how tired I was, the little energy and such. I don't want to go back there.

my last day back home visiting my family i ran into an old friend of a decade and he confessed his feelings for me and so I have until the holidays to get in shape for when I see him again and we start dating!

Plus I just want to live healthier! Screw the guys.

I love the way I look in pictures now! I like trying on clothes and they are flattering. I love the compliments from my husband (he doesn't comment on my weight, but he has noticed the emergin 6-pack). I love the reactions of friends and family member who haven't seen me in awhile. Mainly I love the reaction of my doctor and her nurse who have seen me throughout this process and who are both sincere and enthusiastic in their excitement that I am so much healthier. They note the changes in my blood pressure, cholesterol and BMI and are thrilled.

My super short & tight Slutty Alice in Wonderland Costume for Halloween. I made a deal with my husband that if I could fit into it by 2 weeks before halloween, he would be the Mad Hatter. It fits now, just a little tight.

i have shared this on other threads, but that's ok. i try to realize that, as an organ donor, i have a responsibility to the future recipients of my organs and need to get and remain healthy so i can help make a difference in someone's chances of surviving with healthy "parts". this has been a great motivator for me to say no to certain foods that, years ago, i may have eaten without a second thought...

Last night when I was pumping gas, there was a car on the other side of the island from me. When the owner of the car came back from paying...I caught his reflection in my window...checking out my ass!
I'd like to assume he was looking because he liked what he saw...and I keep thinking of how much more of that will go on when I really get in shape!

1:18 - that's a very intriguing thought. I haven't ever considered that. Hmmm. I like it!

looking at my photos

When I started PT a week ago, I also took photo's and put them on a blog. When I am tempted to eat something bad, I simply look at that, and it turns me off! I highly suggest doing this...it has worked for me so far! I will be posting new photo's every 2 weeks. Check it out! Link below
