Goal clothes

Do those of you losing weight have an article of clothing in mind as a goal. I don't think that's a bad idea. And I realized what mine is and it's kind of goofy.

I want to be able to wear t-shirts from every weird, eccentric corner of the earth, including odd thrift shop t-shirts. I often don't find it easy at XXL to enjoy t-shirts, and at XXXL I could barely find a shirt. I want to be L, and have a few dozen odd t-shirts to wear. I am thinking about ordering a Black Sabbath t-shirt right now, a couple of sizes too small.

Anybody else looking forward to an article of clothing they will be happy to fit into? I know it seems goofy, but you know.... visualize success. It works for me.

Not weird!

Part of my need to lose weight realization came when I realized that I didn't fit my clothes and I was determined NOT to just buy new and bigger ones. My goal item of clothing is a pair of fleece lined jeans. I wore them in college and loved them so much that I never got rid of them. And as it is really only THAT cold around here for a small part of the year, they never wore out. Anyway, my goal last winter was to be able to the jeans...but I didn't make it...I think it was unrealistic for the time. Anyway, I can't wait to try them on THIS winter...I actually think they might fit this time! :)

Absolutely! My goal is to fit into a new size 10 suit for work. I have lost enough weight that I can close the pants, but they are still too tight in the thighs (my trouble area). I think if I lost another 5 lbs, I could do it.

skinny jeans. Normally I do not go for trends until they have been around for awhile, but these actually really flatter and accentuate my long legs. I just fit into a size 6 last week for the first time in 5 years. I am going to lose another 5 pounds and then go back and buy them! I have never been so motivated to reach a goal before! Yes - in general I'm dong this for my health and quality of life but d@mn it rocks to try on something like that and have it look good! Thus I'm filing this experience under 'quality of life' :D

i have a pair of jeans that should have fit when i bought them, but did not and therefore i have never worn them. they are sort of a mini goal as i plan to eventually get to the single digits in clothing sizes, and these jeans are a 12. still, i will be super excited to pull them on.

my other clothing goal is actually ugg boots. i obviously can buy them whenever, but i want to buy the tallish ones and be able to tuck my pants into them! right now my thick calves won't let that happen. i'm hoping with weight loss i eventually will be able to fit jeans and legs into uggs, but im worried about never losing weight from my calves, i know its difficult. anyone got any tips?

I have a pair of pants (simple 5 pocket styling) that I wore in hs (8 years ago) that I want to get back into. I can get into them, but they're a little too tight. Another 10lbs or so, and I'll fit into them. I did have a pair of jeans I wanted to fit into that when I started, I couldn't even get over my thighs, but now they're too big :)

man, that totally is a good idea, but i found it didn't work for me! haha, but the funny thing is, i kept these two skirts for 4 years. the week i gave them away is the exact week i found peertrainer (a few days later, of course). i've lost a lot of weight since donating them, and kinda wish i had them back.. but maybe it is all for the better?! anyway, good luck and good job everyone! whatever it takes!

I wanted to fit into a few old pairs of pants that I was still holding on to. Now I fit into all of them, and most of my other clothes now look too casual for work b/c they're all loose and baggy! I know, not something to complain about, but buying a whole new wardrobe is a little bit out of the question now! Argh!

I want to be able to wear the dress I wore to my Jr Prom... of course not to wear in public or anything- I just want to be at what I concidered the most reasonable weight I've ever been, 140lbs.

I started gaining rapid weight the start of my senior year- I've held onto the dress for 8 years (and 7 apartments/houses later) because I someday hope to fit into it again. It was the last time I really liked the way I looked.

I'd like to do a little cross dressing.

You know how hard it is for a guy my size to find nice lingerie?

Good clean fun. I can't wait.

When I begain on PT, I really wanted to fit into a nice pair of size 16 jeans. Now they are hanging with other 'fat' pants. My next goal is a lovely summer dress that I last wore 10 years ago to a friend's wedding. On Aug. 11, it still didn't fit me. On Sept. 22, I was able to put it on and close the zipper all the way -- major progress. But I still need to lose another 5-10 lbs. for it to fit nicely. I joked with a friend today that I would wear it at Thanksgiving, in spite of it being really summery. Even if I don't actually wear it then, it will be incredibly satisfying if I can.

My partner told me this morning that he's noticed my jeans are getting loose on me. He thinks it's time to buy new jeans :-) I tried on an old pair of black pants the other day, and they fit, but I was concerned they were too tight. He laughed, and said there's no such thing.

My goal is to flatten my stomach up, so I don't get a roll when I sit down.

I was going through a bag of clothes the other day and found a pair of my daughter's jeans size 14 so I tried them on. They are snug but didn't have to lay on the bed to do them up. My goal is to wear them on Thanksgiving to my inlaws for dinner.

My sister's clothes, hands down, even down to the age-inappropriate tops that she has.

I have clothes from when I lost weight before...some of them are a bit outdated (high waist jeans, yuck) but it's been a great way to track progress, aside from the scale. I hit a plateau for two months, and although the scale stayed the same, I kept trying on those pants as a benchmark. Thank god I did, because that kept me from being really depressed about the scale not moving.

To the OP, I now fit into size L tee shirts, as long as they're not juniors. Hang in there!
