I have 30 days please give me suggestions!!!

I have 30 days until I go out to Nevada (now in CT) to see my boyfriend.

I want to make a great impression, and I am already pretty fit but about 6 pounds over where I want to be. What can I eat, I pretty much know exercise, that will help me reach my goals!

I am thinking about starting a mostly protien diet, but I think I might go nuts! I have done this in the past and looked and felt great, any recipes or things that will help me through this process?

I am starting full speed ahead tomorrow and I wondering what others may have done if they were ever in this situation?

First of all What weight were you when you met? If you had to lose the 6lbs when you first met him, I wouldn't worry about the 6lbs. Relax ! Have fun. You proably llok great. Remeber it is what is inside that counts! Dr. Stillmans high protien with 8-10 glasses of water always worked bet for me. If you don't drink the water you could get kidney stones

Why stress yourself unnecessarily? I think he loves you 6lbs or not. Stay on track with your current weight loss goals and diet...if you crash diet, you could be undermining yourself in the long term.

You're boyfriend will only want you to be happy, geniunely happy. That and not the 6lbs will have you shine for him.

Chances are if your boyfriend doesn't know you've gained 6 pounds he certainly isn't going to see it on you. I mean really 6 pounds is hardly noticeable. But a protein diet is bad, the minute you start eating normally again you will gain some of it back. Just cut out a few 100 calories a day and exercise. Eat healthy foods, veggies, fruits, whole grains and lean protein. I have a little system, I have always thought the carb amount to eat was way to high. So when I make a plate of food, I do the 50/25/25 plate. Half my plate is veggies, 1/4 is lean protein and the other 1/4 is whole grain like whole grain pasta, brown rice, quinoa or something like that.

Eating: Above poster is right - cut out a few hundred calories per day. Make healthy changes - cut back on salt, drink lots of water. Don't go on any kind of crazy diet that you won't be able to sustain or the weight will come right back.

Exercise: Try interval training. Also, weight lifting will help you boost your metabolism (which will burn fat) and reshape your body. Looking toned and fabulous will help you feel better about yourself at any weight.

Posture

In addition to the great advice already here - I wanted to add: posture! Great posture instantly makes you look slimmer and taller. Pull your lower abdominals in (think of trying to zip up really tight jeans or pulling your belly button towards your spine), bring your shoulders back and down and raise your head and tuck your shin slightly so that your ears are over your shoulders. Now do this all day - you will notice that your stomach looks flatter, your shoulders and arms look slimmer and your neck looks longer.

Enjoy your time with your sweetheart and don't sweat it too hard. Just stay with the steady, sustainable weight loss and you won't have to worry about what happens after the visit is over and before you see him the next time. I agree that I would just workout a little extra if I were in your shoes.

Eat 5-7 mini-meals each day. Think 'what am I going to be doing in the next 3 hours?' and eat for that activity. Get plenty of protein at each meal (eggs + egg whites, cottage cheese, lean meats). Eat carb-heavy foods (healthy ones like whole grain bread, chickpeas) only at breakfast and lunch. For dinner do lean meats and veggies: like a shrimp stir fry. Eat whole foods, nothing processed and drink lots and lots of water. It's what a lot of people call "eating clean."

And don't forget your ab exercises - work those obliques for the next 4 weeks and you will definitely see a difference (I tend to have more success with weighted ab exercises, not just crunches, but using the cable machines, or a plate on my chest or something).
