For all you chocolate lovers out there….

There is a great deal of research that says chocolate (cocoa) is one of the best antioxidants-rich foods out there. In fact, it may possibly have more antioxidants than blueberries. What’s disappointing is that while the antioxidants may be good for us, the extra fat, sugar, and calories is how a lot of us ended up on Peer Trainer.

What if I told you that you can eat chocolate and not have any of the sugar, fat, calories, or artificial sugar and still benefit from the antioxidants. This is my latest discovery…

Purchase some unsweetened Cocoa powder (15 cal per Tbsp, 0 sugar). Make sure to read the ingredients and confirm that the ONLY ingredient is cocoa powder. This stuff is pretty bitter and is often used in baking.

Mix ½ tbsp of cocoa powder with 1 cup low fat or fat free plain yogurt. The yogurt naturalizes the bitterness of the cocoa powder and you’re left with guilt-free yummy chocolate goodness. Don’t get me wrong, this isn’t as good as a candy bar but it’s damn good for being unprocessed, healthy, no artificial sugars, and low-calorie.

I haven’t tried it with vanilla yogurt (I like to stick with organic plain) but I bet it would be good.

I just tried it with vanilla yogurt!

No - it's no chocolate mousse but I can see how maybe, just maybe it will help with the cravings TOM brings!

Thanks for the tip!
