what's with all the quick-fix threads?

c'mon, people...when are you going to wake up and just burn more calories than you consume? this is as quick as it gets. no drugs, no chemicals, no unknown mutations to your genes...isn't that what this is all about?

Ummm yeah - because folks respond just wonderfully to being lectured to in a confrontational condescending manner.

the truth hurts? take it as you will, it's not sugary sweet, but it's the way it is.

I agree with the OP! if you're fat eat less and exercise more. Simple as that!

I agree also. As a former crash dieter I can say that I screwed up my metabolism and gained more weight back than I lost...
BUT
I have been eating right and exercising since April and I have to say I look better than ever! It comes off slower but it's also harder to put back on when done the right way.

i agree with op, too. you can not look at losing weight as a quick fix because you'll never keep it off. the goal is to change your eating habits permanently, otherwise, what's the point? there's no way you can maintain a permanent diet of slimfast or fasting, etc. there's no magic to it--eat less and exercise more and make those changes permanent.

don't you think if there was a quick fix that truly worked with long lasting results, someone somewhere would be getting extremely rich? hard work is essentially free and proven to be effective. and you enrich yourself when you change in a healthy manner.

it's hard to believe that people still seek out the magic-potion that will fend away fat, no matter what you eat...

i don't understand the way some people feel a NEED to lose, say 5 lbs, by a certain date...enough that they will ingest crazy amounts of laxatives or revert to other drastic measures...
