has anyone used DrNatura colon cleanse?

I don't want to hear what doctors say, they think anything out of the mainstream is bunk. But I am curious if anyone has used this exact cleanse, and what they thought of it. I understand that there is debate about cleaning the colon, but it sounds like the cleanse part helps your whole body. Thoughts?

Valleyofwellness.com better vs Dr Natura

The components in Valleyofwellness.com all natural vitamin cleanse just as well for 1/2 the price. I was told that it is the probiotics and plant enzymes in the formula that promote the cleansing effect featured on the valleyofwellness.com web. The milk thistle in the formula also promotes kidney and liver rejuvenation and cleanse.

Yeah, you wouldn't want to be caught listening to someone who actually knows what they're talking about. I mean, that would be stupid. After all, not listening to science is what made America great.

Hey 1:54 Don't take it so literally, the OP only wanted to have some information on it, and asked for some advice on the procedure, no need to go postal on her / him.
As for "not listening to science" - can't say the States is any better off with the invention of the nuclear weapon.

2:04- you think the internet just grew out of the ground on it's own? :)

But yeah, yer right. People avoiding doctors and their advice is a pet peeve of mine- without doctors, I'd be dead several times over. When I hear someone talking about western medicine and conspiracies to keep alternative cures away from the people, it just really gets me frustrated. But, that's my issue, not the OPs.

So, sorry about the harshness.

(but your doctor really is the one you should ask before you do this)

I hated it.

I used a colon cleaner around 12 years ago. It made me sick as a dog. I don't remember the name of it, but it left my side sore for days.

I've done a bit of research on colon cleanses in the past (I'm for sure not an expert, nor would I claim to be one) and from what I read, I was personally a bit skeptical about them. I'm not saying that they do or do not work, just that I was not convinced myself.

I read a funny story online about somebody's personal experience with Dr. Natura on a comedy website. PLEASE DO NOT CLICK THE LINK IF YOU ARE EASILY OFFENDED. It is a story about somebody's experience with colon cleansing and it's on a comedy website. There's some toilet humor as can be expected.

I've had 3 friends use Dr. Natura--all of them were pleased with their results. But, be sure to eat and drink exactly what is stated with the program otherwise you will "feel sick". Personally I prefer the real thing. I've seen a colon hydrotherapist and as "weird" as it sounds, it really works and besides you're in and out in under an hour, no week long BM's. hope this helps.

doctors thoughts on colon cleansing

I actually do want to know what doctors think about this. I have heard repeatedly that this whole thing is total bs.

My doctor/internist (who performed my colonoscopy last week!) thinks this is ridiculous. That said, if you want to clean your colon, here's how you do it before getting scoped - a true colon cleans as prescribed by my doctore. 1) buy 2 1.5 oz. bottles of Fleet's phospho soda at your drugstore/pharmacy (about $4.50 ea.). The next day, a.m.: eat little to no fiber foods (no nuts, cereals, fresh fruit or vegetables, etc.) until 2pm. Usually this means you're eating dairy and meat to keep full. After 2pm no solid food - just clear liquids (water, chicken broth, etc.). NO BOOZE this day. At 6pm, drink the first bottle of Fleet's (entirely - mix it with a bit of pop to get it down... probably a soda you don't like as this stuff is gross tasting and it may put you off the soda you're drinking it with forever; 7Up works for me). Hang out near a bathroom in the next 30 minutes - duration of about 3 hours. No food but plenty of (clear) fluids are recommendend so you don't get dehydrated. Go to bed. Next a.m. drink the 2nd bottle of Fleets and do your second bathroom tour. After this, your colon will be clear, take my word for it (saw proof during the procedure as there was a camera on the instrument!). When you eat again, start light so your body doesn't freak out. 30 minutes after the light eating you can go back to normal intake of foods. Good luck. It ain't fun. And did I mention, my doctor thinks it's bull (unless you're going into a colonoscopy procedure)?

DR Natura not as good as mdnatura.com colon cleanse

Yes, not to happy. Wasted $88. My friend paid less for package from www.mdNatura.com not to be confused with drNatura and got better result and also got free colon support probiotics. Read the package and DrNatura Colonix had similar ingredients. The program at mdNatura.com was inspired by a medical doctor so there was less side effects. The free probiotics minimize allergic response to colon cleanse and reduce toxins being distributed toxin wide especially those that act like estrogen which can induce feminine concerns.

Blessed Herbs colon cleanse

I am presently using Blessed Herbs colon cleanse...Blessed Herbs.com.

I am on day 5 of the 9 day schedule.

Yesterday I was sick as a dog and I hated this product but today I had the reults excatly as are listed in their website..the same mucoid plaque that they are calling in came out of me bt today it was all black..the previous days not so back and not so rubbery.

I don't know if it is working or it is just the way their supplemnes harden in yuor intestines...but I have used other colon cleanse with good results.

This one is hard and unpleasant. I can not drink all the supplements they want there is just no room so it does fill you up.

We'll see in 4 days how I feel...but again, you do get the EXACT results as the website states...

Anyone else use this product?

Don't think that "western mainstream" medicine is a bad thing. I live overseas and there are lots of "eastern" medical practitioners here. Are people more health here? No, in fact they seem to have more days off, spend ages getting over things and have a shorter life span. We are hardly ever sick and the local people in the office seem to be sick 15% of the time. Not all western or eastern medicine is bad or good. Common sense should be the rule no matter what. Simple things like washing your hands with soap and water before you eat.

Cleansing your colon, well if you want but you have to make sure the everything is working again afterwards. I had mine done for surgery, with western medicine, and the biggest topic in the hospital afterwards was whether or not the colon was working properly again. I could not leave the hospital until they were sure that things were flowing the way they should be.

The best thing for your colon is a balanced diet with enough fibre in it.

Natural Colon Cleansing Programs are Better

Hello,

I just wanted to throw in my ideas about this topic. Colon cleansing is misunderstood by many people. It is important to cleanse using natural methods including dieting and exercising properly. Additionally you should keep a balance of enzymes and nutrients in the body.

The system you are pertaining to is focused mainly on fiber, but that is only a very small portion of what is needed for a cleanse.

Thank You,

George Christodoulou

Oh well

I totally agree with 1:07

I heard this really interesting program on CBC Radio about people's obsession with pooh. I guess the mighty Opes (Oprah) did a program on pooh and now people are obsessed. Specialist after specialist on the CBC said you just need enough water and fiber in your diet.

Humans didn't evolve in a world of instant meals, chemically altered food, severely poisonous polluted environment or heavily sugarred everythings....Our obesity epidemic is part of all these things, even people who make the best attempts to eat healthy, exercise and live well find themselves being diagnosed with all types of "Bunk"....Our world isn't natural anymore, we're hurting everything and ourselves...Truth is, these colon cleanses are not new, humans have been doing these things for thousands of years, difference now though is it requires more aggressive tactics that require a great deal of discipline (that our culture is continually moving away from) ....To all those questioning weather or not to consult a doctor, remember doctors are individuals with varied opinions, the bulk of information doctors rely on our mostly based on theories that are often debatable one way or the other...the trends moving back towards a natural state of living is becoming a growing force in the field of medicine as well, look up homeopathy or wholistic medicine...These are real licensed practitioners who approach medicine in a view many times more beneficial to the individual patient but less helpful to the insurance companies who price and slot illness like inventories.....think about modern science, read, educate yourselves on your options...there are professionals out there to support any lifestyle you choose, natural or conveyor belted.

Avoiding doctors a pet peeve...

The thing is that although the medical field has a lot of information and experience to share, they also ignore and ridicule much that is ourside their relm of pharmacology. The medical community is just now beginning to embrace some of the herbal and natural cures and treatments that they just a few years ago ignored.
My chiropractor has helped my daughter find an MD who also uses naturopathic treatments and due to this she found a way to help her son who was allergic to milk, find a solution to some of his problems including a digestive problem. In the process, we discovered that many pharmaceuticals were dangerous and unneccessary.

Our bodies are amazing feats of engineering, or something, but amazing none the less. We have immune systems that can fix just about everything. BUT...we evolved on a diet of Anti-Oxidants, and live in a world that pushes junk food. So, if you would like your body to work right, support a strong immune system by eating Anti-Oxidants....PLANTS! It's true we are what we eat, and it's true we need to eat our fruits and vegetables to get the best fuel. Also keep in mind that our colon is also full of tons of good bacteria that you don't want to 'cleanse' away. They are there for a reason, and I'm not surprised to read so many negative comments here.

While I don't agree with everything Dr. Fuhrman says (there are supplements that can help) I trust in his basic instructions and here is a link to his thoughts on bowel cleansing along with his nutritional cleanse.

find what works for you

"Usually this means you're eating dairy and meat to keep full."

"At 6pm, drink the first bottle of Fleet's (entirely - mix it with a bit of pop to get it down... probably a soda you don't like as this stuff is gross tasting and it may put you off the soda you're drinking it with forever; 7Up works for me)."

12:32 does your doctor also recommend eating large amounts of dairy and meat and drinking soda pop? Sounds like great advice.

The fact is, western medicine does have its place, but it can't cure everything. This is mainly because doctors treat SYMPTOMS, not the cause of disease, and they treat everyone's symptoms the same way. Everyone reacts differently to different diets, environments, and treatments, and you should find what works for you. Don't listen to anyone - with a medical degree or otherwise - who tells you they know exactly what is going to work for your body.

Dr. Natura

I have used Dr. Natura for over 10 years. I think it is a great, nonintrusive way of cleansing. I did a lot of research before I started Dr. Natura and decided this was one of the best cleanses. I also do the Master Lemonade Cleanse once a year in the spring and I find this does wonders also. I do it for 14 days and is much more intrusive, but it reteaches your body how to each properly. I don't care what doctors say about cleansing. I don't think our bodies were meant to eat all this processed food so once or twice a year I think it is good to cleanse.

Best cleanse?

Very high vegetable/fruit diet. High in fiber (the main ingredient in most cleanses), low in irritating herbs that can cause problems (the other main ingredient in most cleanses), and extremely rich in nutrients, antioxidants and phytonutrients that help fix up cell damage (pretty much not there in commercial cleanses).

Do it the natural way. Add a bunch of water, some vigorous exercise to make you sweat, and you've got a super cleansing program.
