Nah ... I think someone just needed a forum to rant about the contents of their spam box.

While we're at it, can we throw in all of the UK lottery winnings that are waiting to be desposited into my account?

Along the lines of 3:36...

I'm straight and female. I am not interested in hooking up with hot horny housewives.

Nor do I need cheap Cialis or Viagra...I mean, "C1aL1s" or "V1agrra".

Someone was selling a puppy on a Classifieds website; I responded, and they gave me some looonnnggg story about how they had sold their puppies, but, one of the people that they sold two puppies to before had moved to Africa WITH THE DOGS, but the dogs weren't liking Africa, so I should buy his dogs from him and have them shipped to me FROM AFRICA! And, of course, transfer money to him, IN AFRICA!

First, I don't think dogs are allowed to immigrate here from Africa, and second, who would buy a dog without meeting them in person first and seeing where/how he's been raised?! What ridiculous scammers!

although these are all funny to most of us, the real tragedy is that some folks do not see through these types of scams and respond with the requested actions.

You're complaining about spam grammar? Check THIS out:

"Priva tentazioni mie pene alle spalle. His unique marriage raucous comedy reception quickly turns.
Ltsi pulgas dejalas fuerasolo?
Crazychan pazzo cantase colora scherzaah piccolo."

I think it's an enemy attempt to scramble our brains.

Buy this stock!

You've never heard of this company before, but they're GREAT, take my word for it. Naturally, I don't own any shares now, so when you suckers all pile in, I'm not going to benefit in any way. Trust me.

in the office where i work we often receive faxes that have someone's name scribbled at the top with a little note like, " hey, sue! came across this deal (or stock option, or trip voucher, etc), and thought you'd be interested! do not share this information with anyone-it's red hot!" you'd think that people who are resourceful enough to come up with scams like these would be able to better direct their talents!

Interestingly enough, they've found that the guys behind the Nigerian scams are often not Nigerian. The spammers may be, but the 'kingpins' who come up with the ideas are not (well, not always). There was a British guy prosecuted a few years ago for masterminding a series of email scams.

Someone just called me on my work phone and said they'd seen my ad that I had puppies.

I don't have puppies.

On another website, someone was claiming that they were in Spokane, Washington DC. Clearly, this is not someone familiar with America, as, Spokane is in Washington State, and Washington, DC, is a city across the country!

Just be smart! Lucky for us, for now, the scammers are often quite obvious if you just read carefully!

I love the ones with the subject "Dearly beloved" - I've never opened one of them, but I think the use of obsolete-but-churchy English in this context is hysterical.
