EMAIL THREAD
Any famous people on PT?
Just curious are there any famous people who log into Peertrainer?
Mon. Jan 15, 2:42pm
Famous people
I am famous for having a great sense of humor.
So sign me up!
Monday, January 15, 2007, 2:53 PM
Ha! Who would you want in your group if they were? :)
Monday, January 15, 2007, 2:58 PM
i think i remember that "kiss me kate" was featured on an interview about peertrainer and the success she's had...maybe i'm wrong? that's pretty famous in my book.
Monday, January 15, 2007, 3:02 PM
Kate's fame came from PT! : )
Has anyone been able to get through to Oprah yet? She's welcome to join my group!
Monday, January 15, 2007, 3:03 PM
Yup. Someone in a group a while back. I won't say though. I wouldn't want anyone to out me.
Monday, January 15, 2007, 3:07 PM
i wrote an email that was confirmed as received, but haven't had any other response. i think she'd have to be on a team so we can all share her!!
Monday, January 15, 2007, 3:08 PM
you mean you wrote an email to oprah inviting her to a team? Luv that. She could use peertrainer. Get her over here.
Monday, January 15, 2007, 3:11 PM
yes, i sent her a link to the site and told her a little about the way it works. someone suggested that on a thread a while back and i sent her an email that day. i think it would be great for her to feature a segment about peertrainer, but it might make it more difficult for this to remain a free site if her audience got into it!
Monday, January 15, 2007, 3:17 PM
ITA. People who watch her show would love peertrainer. From what I know, these kinds of sites are free because the advertisers pay for it. Peertrainer, how does that work?
Get her over here. She would inspire me. Send her another email. Where do you send it? I will too.
Monday, January 15, 2007, 3:28 PM
3:07 - WHO???????? Now you have to tell us.
Monday, January 15, 2007, 3:30 PM
c'mon. don't let your curiosity deprive someone else of their privacy!! nothing will happen as a result of you not knowing, but if there is really a famous person, it might have an impact on their life.
Monday, January 15, 2007, 3:52 PM
i went to oprah's website and found the section where you can send in an idea for a show.
Monday, January 15, 2007, 3:53 PM
anonymity
That's one of the reasons this site works - - you don't have to tell people who you are. I'm not famous, but I'm darn sure that I would never use my real name as my screen name. For all we know, 50% of the people on here are famous. Even if we knew who - we wouldn't necessarily be able to track them down because they'd be using a different name.
I had a point when I started this post...
Monday, January 15, 2007, 4:25 PM
I had an actress in our group who is an extra on up coming Ocean's 13! Thought that was cool.
Monday, January 15, 2007, 5:47 PM
I'd hate it if Oprah joined. For me, having celebrities around ruins the dynamic of a social interaction. I prefer regular people!
Monday, January 15, 2007, 6:54 PM
I'd love to have Oprah on one of my teams! Competing with Oprah, making sure I run more than she does, eat less, workout more. Bring it on, O! I am calling you out!! lol
Monday, January 15, 2007, 8:52 PM
Even if Oprah were on PT we wouldn't know so it wouldn't matter. Who cares about whos famous. I think to many people live in this false bubble world where celebrities are god, they aren't they are just people like you and me with everyday problems and personal issues.
Monday, January 15, 2007, 9:45 PM
my friend WAS posting on here but she hasnt been lately. Her husband invented Uno Spin. Is that famous? lol.
Monday, January 15, 2007, 11:17 PM
i think celebrities ARE regular people-they just have really high paying jobs and have their pictures everywhere. although that is completely different than my lifestyle, so is the lifestyle of a teacher, or a politician, or a car mechanic. and i would like to interact with all kinds of people, that's what gives socializing meaning for me.

why shold opera join she looks great and she doesnt need to lose anymore weight God people think for once damn
Tuesday, January 16, 2007, 10:22 AM
To 10:22
Punctuation is golden.
Tuesday, January 16, 2007, 10:24 AM
this site isn't just to assist members in losing weight, but also with maintaining a healthy weight and improving or continuing a healthy lifestyle. some are actually trying to overcome eating disorders and this site is a great reference on how to stay fit and get a healthy amount of exercise in addition to a balanced diet. i think anyone who has had trouble maintaining could benefit from this site, including oprah.
Tuesday, January 16, 2007, 10:27 AM
i think it would be hard for a famous person to develop relationships on PT, even tho it's supposedly anon. group members end up asking questions about job, family, etc and how would a famous person respond to maintain that anonymity? "whoops, i'll be out of town, um.... well... (filming a movie, playing music with my band, etc)...."
Tuesday, January 16, 2007, 11:14 AM
how about "i'll be out of town for work."?
Tuesday, January 16, 2007, 11:17 AM
exactly. acting is a job like anything else. i don't know what half of my group members do. i don't know about their family. this is probably one of the only places online they could lose weight in private.
Tuesday, January 16, 2007, 2:35 PM
I think you're missing another big point - many (not all, but many) famous people have nutritionists, trainers, etc. working with or for them to help them with their weight loss or lifestyle maintenance. So I don't know how many of them would actually use something like Peertrainer. It seems like all the work gets done for them.
Tuesday, January 16, 2007, 4:16 PM
Yes, every last single one of them. NOT. Who cares. I don't even know why I'm answering this anyway.
Tuesday, January 16, 2007, 4:17 PM
Who cares! They put on thier pants the same way we do. They also fart and burp!
Thursday, January 18, 2007, 6:28 PM
Even people who have those people (nutritionists, trainers, etc.) may still struggle with their weight and/or want support from other people (famous or not) going through the same issues.
Remember that thread a while back about "Poor Oprah" because her trainer had YELLED at her for eating a small ice cream cone.
1) See? She's one of the richest woman in the world and she still has food issues; and
2) I'm sure she could have benefitted from coming on PT and (anonymously) bitching about her day! : )
Thursday, January 18, 2007, 8:41 PM
And how 'bout them kray-zee celebrity anorexics?! Ye gods. Wasn't that the cover of People or one of those mags last week?
Thursday, January 18, 2007, 9:09 PM
oprah definitely needs peertrainer now. doesn't anyone here know her?
Tuesday, May 12, 2009, 3:11 PM
Oprah needs some new advice clearly. She is killing Bob Greene right now.
Tuesday, May 12, 2009, 3:55 PM
Yes, I agree. Who would be able to help her?
Wednesday, May 13, 2009, 3:24 PM
I'm guessing Oprah knows exactly what she needs to do and her situation has nothing to do with Bob Greene or his professional advice. You can't blame the trainer, he can't control her emotional eating or lack of balance in her life.
Just as we are all responsible for ourselves and our successes, Oprah will take care of Oprah.
Wednesday, May 13, 2009, 3:58 PM
I genuinely think peertrainer could really help her. She could be private. No one would have to know she's here.
