Does anyone know of a successful weight loss pill?

I've never tried any weight loss pills because I'm very skeptical and I'm not sure if they would work. I got close to buying some once, but I thought it better to research the idea before compulsive buying. If anyone has encountered some success, I'd be thrilled to hear about it!

I've heard crystal meth is effective, though the side effects are pretty brutal...

Lemme be the first to say it- pills don't work. losing weight is hard work, and it takes self control and discipline. If it was easy, we wouldn't have any fat people.

Very true, thanks for the input -- I think I'll stay away from the meth

I can't believe someone would mention meth-one try and you are addicted and it is very very ugly. Unfortunatley, women get into it for weight loss and end up neglecting and abusing their children and losing everything they have. That is the rule, not the exception. It is an epidemic and very serious, not a casual aside to a request for weight loss pills.

I have found some pills helpful

After having my baby last year, losing weight was the biggest challenge ever! It just stuck to my body! I managed to lose 70 lbs on my own, however the last 10 have been very tough to lose. So I started using NV (I know, totally corny, but it works). The main ingredients are caffiene, which helped to keep me energized and get me through very rigorous workouts. I did lose about 5 lbs and then reached yet another plateau. I stopped taking it and started taking Slim Quick Extreme. I'm managed to lose another couple of pounds with it. I have since stopped taking pills and am now really monitoring what I eat and my activity level. These pills are not miracle pills, you still need to do the gritty hard workouts, they just aid in keeping your energy up and curbing your appetite slightly. If used incorrectly, you won't get any results and can harm yourself. I'm a very disciplined person and only recommend using pills as an aid if you too are disciplined. Again, they don't work miracles, they can help if you've hit a plateau and nothing else is working.

Good luck!

Something that works..

I don't like using them, but about once every 3 months I hit a plateau, and I use TrimpSpa. It probably does nothing and is all in my head, but I swear in using them 1 week I will lose 5-6 lbs, but nothing more after that. I only use them as a kickstart in my diet, never long term. You could probably do the same thing just revamping your workout or diet, but I choose the pills for one week. Like I said...probably all in my head lol.

4/20 10:30 you've got to be joking? Can't you see the sarcasm in the myth statement? And by the way, you don't get addicted if you try something once, are you living in some sort of bubble?

Just Say No

To diet pills. Do you take them for the rest of your life? What happens when you stop taking them?

Phen-fen worked really well -- unfortunately, it turned out to be horribly bad for you.

I tried and OTC thing last year. I figured I was in good health and the side affects didn't seem like anything problematic. One of the side effects listed was a lowering of the good cholesterol - HDL? My cholesterol was never a problem at all. Last time I had my blood checked, after taking approximately 2 weeks worth of the OTC weight loss pills, the doctor told me that my HDL was low, bordering on too low.

So, best advice from someone who's been there -- Just get in control and do it right. Don't risk the side effects!

10:40 aaaaa wrong sister!!!!!!!!!! I have done meth and am completely drug free. In fact I have done it three times over 5 years. I am not saying that it cannot be addictive but dont speak for everyone. To the first respondent The comment was funny. Diet pills can be just as addictive and are the legal form of it. They are all uppers. Get your proven facts straight. They can be but arent always

I hate to say it, but there is no majic pill. I've taken a dozen different kinds and mixed them with different kinds of exercise. At the end of 8 months of trying several different kinds I realized that - the pills had nothing to do with my weightloss. Only the exercise did. Taking a pill 3 times a day helps keep you focused on losing weight but that is it.

Sarcasm doesn't work well in an email - and not really well in face to face communication, but at least then you can hear the tone. Emails don't transmit the tone, so please, say what you mean.

OK, back to the original comment. I have used a few different pills in my lifetime and I've figured out the only good use they have is to take caffiene loaded ones before a workout. Or just forget the expensive pills and drink a cup of coffee or tea.

I would do your research on them first. I have been told that it is awful and dangerous to work out on them and that you can possibly die as a result
