when I am dating someone, I usually go out with them once a week in the beginning. Of course if you are dating more than one, multiply that... and I know many people will go out more than once a week, but I am the busy and independent type...
There are tons of fun things to do that don't involve food.
All the following make great dates:
Go dancing, to a museum, to the park, movie, browse a bookstore (yes I'm kind of a nerd), concert/show, the obvious - bar (I drink vodka w/soda and lime or red wine)

Putt-putt is alot of fun. So are walks (any botanical gardens or trails near you?). Now that the weather is nicer there are lots of things outside to do. Or go to the movies, take a day trip and pack lunch so you can control what there is to eat. And come back here and let us know how you're doing.

The first week I dated my husband, we went out 4 times. After that, we saw each other pretty much every day. That's probably unusual, but that's how it went. But pretty soon, we were cooking dinner more than going out, so it wasn't hard to make it healthy. Also, you can go out after dinner for drinks instead of going for dinner, and just order one drink, or diet soda or black coffee (if you like those things).

Our first date was a long walk and dinner, and then a long walk afterwards; our second was going out with my friends - dinner and a bar. Our third was a concert at a small bar (and maybe I had one light beer). Our fourth was a nice dinner; nice restaurants can be pretty healthy - a lean steak (think filet) or some good fish, with some veggies on the side, or a salad with dressing on the side. And share a dessert.

Anyway, dates don't have to be infrequent, but they don't have to be unhealthy either!
