Belly preganancy question
Hi!
I have a question- Im due in about a week, give or take 2 weeks afterward ;)
I have already dropped and noticed yesterdya that my lower abdominal area is saggy and feels kinda fatty under it. I think it looks like someone who lost alot of weight and the skin is still saggy- hubby says its not that bad and it will firm up oncei lose the baby weight and can exercise again.
I should mention that i have gained about 50lbs while being pregnant (i know its alot!)
My question: Has anyone had this and did it go away? Or do i have to just wait and see?
Thanks!

oh you mean an "apron?" I totally dislike that term because some aprons are cute... and well these aren't- bellies are great when they are full of baby...
It will depend on how old you are now... how overweight and what kind of belly you had before... and if you plan on nursing you will have an easier time losing weight.
I had a belly before.. since I was 12 (was smaller but still there) and it just started sagging after the first pregnancy. I still have stretch marks on my upper belly.
I am pregnant again and totally on the thought track of some sort of skin lift in the next few years. I am 33 and know my skin is not going to snap back.
My saving grace is my dh loves me the way I am and my breasts are still a "thumbs up." :D

OP here:
Im 26 and was not fat before i got preggo. While i didnt have a flat belly, i didnt hae a big pouch belly eighter.
I am planning on breatfeeding, and i do know that it should help me lose weight...for most people anyways...

I will speak about my experience I gained over 50 pounds during preg. and lost 20 right after having her the rest was Fat so I had to exercise and follow Weight Watchers in order for it to come off . Don't worry you will lose it but you will have to work at it

I was a bit over weight when I got pregnant and had a pooch that was a bit southward, if you know what I mean. I only gained 26 pounds, lost it all within 2.5 weeks but my body was a completely different shape. I found my belly was more hangy then before and way looser. Even though I actually ended up being 4 pounds less then when I got pregnant my clothes just didn't fit the same and you could see a definite outline of my tummy. No amount of exercising has helped even though I am 8 pounds away from my goal I still have this nasty "apron" as they call it. But on the bright side every body is different and I was 35 when I had her, so....
