love..
this is random for this message board but .. does everyone remember their first time being in love? i felt it for the first time in my life ... the real-deal, not just a crush, everything is an inside joke, i would do anything for you because you're my best friend and everything to me kind of love. he had to move quite far away and we both decided to end it, which was one of the hardest decisions in my life, but i think i'll always love him... it still hurts a lot. but i think its one of those things...if its meant to be we will find eachother again. i was always an independent person and didn't really understand what all of the songs and poems were about besides being cute, but i'm a completely different person now. and i know the feeling fades and things get comfortable, and thats nice too. but does everyone else remember their first love?

Yep. Ended 3 1/2 years ago. And all those people who said I'd get over it? Wrong. Hurts like hell almost every day. Sorry.

im sorry, 5:45...
i think if it is really, really love you never get over it. a part of you will always love that person, even if you've both moved on..

yeah. things just couldn't go back to the way they were and it was all my fault. i'm still in love with her. and she can't even see how much it hurts me to see her talk about other people. its the hardest thing i could do to pretend i'm fine, but i don't want to hurt her more by telling her the truth - that i don't think i can ever love someone else the way i loved, and still love her.

Oh yes - we met in a crowded room. I looked up and met his eyes and we both felt like we'd been hit by a bolt of lighting. He took my hand, pulled me into his arms and said "We HAVE to get married" and I felt as if I'd always belonged there. If we'd been in Vegas we might have done just that right then and there. We spent an amazing year together, but it sadly became apparent that no matter how much you love someone, the two of you may not make a good relationship. We still write each other occasionally and I care deeply about his happiness and well-being, but my romantic feelings for him have faded as we each grew our own ways and I cannot help but reflect that had we stayed together we would have unintentionally made each other miserable. We are just too different.
The second love was less dramatic but no less profound. Like blissfully sinking into a warm, relaxing bathtub and sighing in pure pleasure. Our relationship has only grown stronger and deeper over the years. I am still glad for that first love though - taught me a lot and in no way do I feel that my current happiness or contentment is somehow disloyal to those feelings. Without that relationship and the growth I experienced I might not have become the person I am today.
